It's the one thing about the Electoral College system I advocate changing. The electors themselves are unneeded and potentially troublesome with no benefits which are evident to me.

I would bet all ten will be secretly telling their friends they were the vote for Edwards.

And I thought Minnesota politics couldn't become even more of a national laughingstock after the Ventura Administration...

"My brain just exploded "

That's the illustrious Will Pitt over there. The same one that got hit with a brick the night of the election. That guy's been through a hellish time lately.

I do not feel the slightest bit of guilt for him.

Edwards receiving an electoral vote for President instead of VP is a sure sign that he will be elected President in 2008. Why, the last VP nominee to receive an electoral vote for President was . . . Lloyd Bentsen in 1988. And we sure remember President Bentsen, huh?

Ok Mr. Jeeves, stop right there with the Ohio joke...unless you're joking about Cleveland...thats the Kerry/Edwards part of the state. (I'm sure thats what you meant by Detroit, Ohio anyway)

I think it may have been a reference to Kerry's campaign stop in Michigan after he had been in Ohio for a while:

"I just came here from Bowling Green," Kerry told the crowd to subdued applause. "I was smart enough not to pick a choice between the Falcons and the, well, you know, all those other teams out there. I just go for Buckeye football, that's where I'm coming from."

Michigan Buckeyes? Oops.

In other news: A New York elector cast a vote for Stew Pedd earlier today.

Anybody remember Hannity's "Man on the Street Thursday?"

"Read the article. Whomever it was, the nimrod voted Edwards/Edwards.

Is that considered an overvote or a spoiled ballot?"

The 12th Amendment says that the electors "shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice President," and I think it presupposes that one may not vote for the same person for both offices, since otherwise it could allow one man to be elected both President and VP. The Constitution never says, for example, that one person cannot hold all of the House of Representative seats for a particular state, yet common sense dictates that if a person is elected simultaneously in two separate districts he would have to resign from one of the seats.

See, vote "fraud" in Ohio is seeping into other states. This is how it starts. Republicans stolenfranchised every democrat voter in Ohio, and now we've obviously gotten to this poor sap as well.

At least we know that every vote was counted and THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO FRAUD in PA, MI and WI. It was only in Ohio. That's it. Nowhere else. Democrats play fair. Always have. Always will.

Please tell me that we'll be done hearing about this crap soon. I can't take it much longer.

Most electors chalked the vote up as a mistake rather than a purposeful political statement.

Either way it was a mistake!

no.. if ohio flipped, which is impossible at this point.. kerry would have 272 minus the one that didnt vote today.. so that would leave him with 271.

It seems DemonRAT electors are as unable to follow simple instructions as DemonRAT voters. I wonder when the DemonRAT elites will begin yelling for a do-over in the entire electoral college?
