My sentiments exactly. While I believe Peterson killed his wife and unborn child, there is no direct, concrete proof. Like you said, circumstantial. There's no way I could give him the death penalty just because I was reasonably sure he committed the crime.

I think it'll be death, too. I don't know why else the jury would ask for all those peices of evidence this morning. Photos of Lacy's body, etc. And they came to a decision so soon after. I don't think it matters one way or another for Peterson.

Scott won't last a year if he doesn't get the death penalty. I really don't care one way or the other because he isn't going to be a happy camper where he is going to be living.

The sentencing decision is coming in at 4:30 pm so it can interfere with coverage of the Ohio Election Fraud. No, seriously, I read it
here.

So what new case can Greta gin up coverage for?
To: Quilla
there is no direct, concrete proof. Like you said, circumstantial. There's no way I could give him the death penalty just because I was reasonably sure he committed the crime. That's my gut feeling, too.
But then again... I thought they'd find him not guilty, so what do I know?

The "experts" don't know what they are talking about half the time. They were shocked at the verdict, so take what they say with doubt.
It's CA, anything can happen. I'm hoping for the death penalty though.

Friends, he lives in California!!!!! They haven't executed anyone there in DECADESPerhaps Arnold would be moved to expidite things? ... nah ...

I hope so too. Strictly speaking, it's a "private matter," IMHO, in that it does not affect ME or the other average Joes, like, say, a major economic development or election result would. I'm NOT trying to be selfish or insensitive - just the opposite. I think that the media needed to be involved when it was a missing persons case, but after that the victims' family should have their privacy.
It's a shame that this horror has been used largely to sell magazines and garner ratings. And although I try to avoid the coverage, I'm guilty for "continuing the cycle" by reading and watching as much as I did.
Sorry for the sermon, but I agree with your general point.
