Microsoft to Unveil 'MOOL' for Outlook (Microsoft Office Outlook Live)

Microsoft will officially debut "MOOL" on Monday, ratcheting up its MSN consumer offerings.

As first reported by BetaNews, MOOL, or Microsoft Office Outlook Live, extends MSN Outlook Connector and Hotmail integration beyond MSN's Premium service. Microsoft will also unveil its long-awaited Desktop Search as part of the new MSN Toolbar Suite Beta. As Microsoft endeavors to broaden its MSN reach through added consumer offerings such as e-mail and search tools, MOOL brings these efforts full circle into Redmond's prized Office System. MOOL connects Hotmail and MSN mail accounts to Outlook and provides synchronization of e-mail, contacts, calendar entries and tasks.

To gear up for the Monday launch, Microsoft has posted a Flash demonstration detailing the use of MOOL with Outlook 2003. Functionality-wise, MOOL is similar to Microsoft's MSN

If you use Thunderbird as an email client and Outlook as a contact/calendar manager, can Thunderbird use Outlook as the source for the address book (and I mean *without* exporting my contacts from Outlook, because once that's done, I'd have to maintain two separate address books).

Pathetic. Finally MicroSoft, world champion of OS sales, is only a year *behind* Google in offering a decent search feature for your PC's.

...And is now only 6 years behind email services that allow POP access.

Oh, and to get these "new" features, you get stuck being called a derogatory name for Blacks...because you are now a Moolie.

You know, if wasn't for the money, I'd have dropped MicroSoft long ago (but what the heck, greenbacks can be addictive).
