Michael Moore is lobbying for “Fahrenheit 911” to win the People’s Choice Award.

The Bush bashing flick is ineligible for a Best Picture win from the Golden Globes and wasn’t submitted to the best documentary category of the Oscars — but it’s been nominated for Favorite Film of the Year by folks voting in the People’s Choice Awards — the first time a documentary has been nominated in that category.
“Now, normally I wouldn’t make a very big deal out of something like this,” Moore writes on his Web site. “But then a group of top Republicans took out a full page ad in USA Today. [and among other things they] issued a not-so-subtle threat to the Academy Awards voters that, in essence, said don’t even THINK about nominating ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ for Best Picture. And [Fox newsman] Bill O’Reilly recently bellowed that if the Oscars recognize my work this year, Middle America will boycott Hollywood. Oops. I guess he spoke too soon. Because now along comes Middle America’s favorite awards show, the People’s Choice.”

Vote for Spiderman 2. There's at least some shred of morality in those movies and Sam Raimi is a heck of a director. Plus, it really is the best of the bunch, even if it is a kids movie.

This industry AWARDS itself more than all other businesses in the world combined.
They are a bunch of inbred egomaniacs who could care less what anyone outside their inner circles think, in fact most of them never even hear a contradictory word because they surround themselves with their "own people" who constantly reinforce their own "wonderfulness."
WHAT CRAP. My advice is IGNORE all AWARDS shows.
I heard that it was going to be in the best documentary category, but it should actually be in the best picture category being as it's mostly a fictitious piece of overwrought BS.
Essentially, if the Hollywood left elevates F-9/11 to the level of an actual "film", as apposed to a very wretched and failed piece of juvenile propaganda... which it really is, it will have an effect of "Ratherizing" the "People's Choice" and the Academy Awards... i.e. discrediting them. Why should we care whether a proven cimnematic fraud is still being touted by those who insist upon remaining out of touch with reality and the country? The long overdue sunset of yet another leftist institution, is what we are witnessing.
