Looks like he's building an institution instead of fighting the battles he started.

I would rather see the Swift Boat vets continue to uncover the real story about Kerry's discharge and commission a respected historian to write the whole story about American efforts in Vietnam, how they were undermined at home, what the relationship was between the leadership of the antiwar movement and the Vietcong, and the role that Kerry played in all of that.

I suspect that, like me, that is what the rest of the donors to the Swift Boat Veterans for Justice had in mind.

No, he's taking an approach that worked and applying it to another situation.

That's pretty much what the Swift Vets and POWs for Truth are taking. Jerry is a political expert and researcher -- he wasn't a Swift vet. With Kerry out of the way, at least for the moment, he's setting some new goals.

I suspect that, like me, that is what the rest of the donors to the Swift Boat Veterans for Justice had in mind.

You seem to have jumped to the conclusion that funds donated to the Swift Vets will be used for the new effort, which is not the case. Jerry is creating a set of new organizations that will raise their own funds to promote freedom in Iran, and to implement other political projects.

My donations had no strings. I trust these men to continue on doing their patriotic duty.

And if asked, I will donate again.

That ongoing demolition of Kerry will happen.

The nonpartisan Swift Boat Vets (in fact O'Neill is a Democrat) mission was to expose Kerry's lies about Viet Nam because they didn't want a traitor like him as CIC.

They accomplished their mission, and it doesn't seem they want to pursue it any further unless it becomes likely that Kerry will run again for President.

These men took their own time and money (and what was donated) and some of them had no rest or time at home until Kerry was defeated.

I think most of the donors knew the money was to bring as much out to expose Kerry's lies and treason as possible so he wouldn't be elected President, not to spend their lives doing this.

They served their Country TWICE (once in the Nam war and again during the last year or so) and deserve to be private citizens again.

I'm no expert, but that's my take on it.

You speak for me, too. The marxists have hijacked our history. We need to get the truth out there, and keep it out there.

Anybody with a high school student at home, ask to see their history book. Check out what is included on the Founding Fathers, on the wars you're familiar with, specifically Vietnam, and on the Republican presidencies from Eisenhower through Bush 2. In most states, local school boards approve the teachers' or principals' recommendations for textbooks. Ask to see the Board policy on textbook approval. Make sure you're there when your influence can count.

Parents of college students, encourage your child to take solid courses on American History, whatever their major happens to be.

Beware of the trap my daughter fell in to. Her professor assigned a "research" paper, using only notes from class and the textbook. After a lot of thought, she used the above criteria, then added original sources and library books to provide a more complete and accurate picture, and also spoke out in class.

Swifties, keep putting the truth out there!
