(Martin Luther) King's daughter in anti-gay marriage protest

The Rev. Bernice King, daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., is to join a prominent Atlanta pastor today in a march that opposes same-sex marriage as part of a church-centered movement. The event has been criticized by gay-rights organizations, which say it betrays the legacy of the slain civil rights leader.

The "Reigniting the Legacy" march, to be led by King and Bishop Eddie Long, will begin at the Martin Luther King Center for Nonviolent Social Change. Organizers said they expected 100 pastors and 10,000 marchers to participate.

Long, whose New Birth Missionary Baptist Church has 25,000 members, said his goal was to re-establish an authoritative voice for the black church on a range of issues -- including protection of marriage, school choice, affordable health care and "wealth creation" for minorities.

I hope Blacks are starting to realize that their values and objectives are more in line with those of the Republican party.

I also find it interesting, that a lot of articles mention the march, but only very few mention, that MLK, JR.'s daughter is one of the main organizers.

It always had been, but remember it was MLK that sold his people out to the Democraps favoring LBJ over Goldwater!

And she is no dummy:

"Bernice King, 41, the Kings' youngest daughter, has degrees in law and divinity from Emory University and is known as a powerful orator on race and social justice. Recently, she said, she has become the "spiritual daughter" of Long, who has built New Birth into the largest of Atlanta's mega-churches. Among the congregation are prominent state, city and county officials."

Martin Luther King was a mixed bag. He was a womanizer, a plagiarist, and a rabble rouser, especially when he went up to Chicago and stirred up violent trouble toward the end of his life.

But I believe he was also a sincere Christian in spite of all those failings. Certainly he was not a saint, but if you have to choose between MLK and Huey Newton, the NAACP as against the Black Panthers and the Black Muslims, then the choice is obvious.

The leftist revolution of 1968 made a devil's deal among various factions that really share no common interests except an interest in making trouble for the "establishment": blacks, hispanics, liberal Jews, liberal Protestant mainliners, dissident Catholics, feminists, gays, hippies, and so on. It's a very uneasy alliance, because it means that Bible-believing blacks have to work together with transvestites to promote their joint cause.

If blacks want to be politically smart, as well as work for what the things they believe in, such as black families and black moral welfare, then they should break out of this jerry-built coalition and start working for what they really believe in.

They have been played for suckers.

I wonder when the MSM is going to attack her for being 'homophobic' and 'judgmental'. I, for one, ain't gonna hold my breath waiting for that!

Homosexual Agenda Ping.

Is this good news or what? There are several articles about this march and MLK's daughter. Let's see the MSM try to ignore or put their usual spin in this! Talk about being between a rock and a hard place.

Let me and ItsOurTimeNow know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.
