Are You A Natalist?

Republicans Outbreed Us, Democrats Fret

http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/12/10/114946.shtml

Democrats' endless and often clueless stewing over the GOP's latest election triumphs just keeps getting funnier.

Have you heard of "natalists"? They’re the left's new boogeyman. These curious Middle American creatures, it seems, care more about having a family than a summer home in the Hamptons. They tend to have conservative moral values. And ... they're reproducing!

Now the media elitists are examining this phenomenon of flyover country as if it's some sort of exotic species that must be dissected, though perhaps not exterminated.

The New York Times' David Brooks frets: "They are having three, four or more kids. Their personal identity is defined by parenthood. They are more spiritually, emotionally and physically invested in their homes than in any other sphere of life, having concluded that parenthood is the most enriching and elevating thing they can do. Very often they have sacrificed pleasures like sophisticated movies, restaurant dining and foreign travel, let alone competitive careers and disposable income, for the sake of their parental calling."

Oh, the agony of missing Hollywood's "sophisticated movies." Heavens, could there be people who'd rather raise their children than catch a double bill of "Kinsey" and "Saw"?

New Republic frets: "Democrats swept the largely childless cities - true blue locales [such as] San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Boston and Manhattan have the lowest percentages of children in the nation - but generally had poor showings in those places where families are settling down, notably the Sun Belt cities, exurbs and outer suburbs of older metropolitan areas."

Brooks offers his latte-sipping readers a bit of reassurance: "Natalists are associated with red America, but they're not launching a jihad." Wow. Someone at the New York Times admits that heartland America is not identical with Islamic terrorists. How progressive.

"Natalists are associated with red America, but they're not launching a jihad."

Wanna bet? :) Although it will be called, if you'll pardon the term, a "Crusade". :)

Gee, me too. I bet they'd be horrified with my tribe of four boys, and my magical, levitating belly housing baby #5! And, even worse, I am a SAHM...even more horrors in store! My gosh, I probably don't even read BOOKS! I am likely just barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen, making dinner for my man and living my life through him and my children. I am a parasite of humanity, only producing more offsping to horrify the libs...thank goodness I am far too busy to launch a jihad...natalists (what a stupid word) would win by sheer numbers alone! LOL

This truly shows just how twisted the world of liberals is. They claim that conservatives are not compassionate and are self centered. But at the same time they are perplexed why “red state conservatives” would want to sacrifice pleasures like sophisticated movies, restaurant dining and foreign travel, competitive careers and disposable income all for the sake of their parental calling? Values to a conservative often deals with character, integrity, uncompromising morals, responsibility, spirituality, self sacrifice, duty, honor, and county. It seems that unless you can attach a dollar amount or some kind of monetary or self-fulfilling pleasure tag on it, then liberals just can’t understand the meaning of the word values.

This has to be my favorite line from that piece:

I remember reading several scathing letters to the Editor when Ron Howard's movie "Parenthood" came out. Mostly along the lines of how dare all the characters in this movie have babies!

If the libs hadn't spent so much time aborting their offspring over the past 30 years, they might be in the majority. It's a statistically reliable statement to say that most abortions eliminate a potential Democrat voter.

We have seven children. Many folks we know have more than ten.

If I remember correctly, the worst curse from God to the living was, "I will cut off your generations."

The Left has been volunteering itself for this curse.

While the Right has been breeding voters, the Left has been selecting itself out of the gene pool with things like abortion and "birth control".

The Democrats used to be able to import their voters. But while immigration is becoming more strict, even imported voters are smarter these days.

Natalist.....hmmmm.....well.....homosexuals call us "breeders" in a pejorative way.....guess I can live with "natalist"......does that make Democrats "fatalists?"

"Very often they have sacrificed pleasures like sophisticated movies, restaurant dining and foreign travel, let alone competitive careers and disposable income, for the sake of their parental calling."

Obviously a moron with no children. What a jerk!

Hard to go to movies, out to dining, and travel to foreign lands when you are constantly having to buy shoes for your kid's ever expanding feet, or new jeans to replace the ones they riped a hole in the knee.

Yes I am a Natalist, and dang proud of it too!

Thanks! Boys are great, aren't they? Next month I find out what flavor I've got this time, but needless to say, there is no family pool on the gender, LOL!
