NEW YORK -- A British philosophy professor who has been a leading champion of atheism for more than a half-century has changed his mind. He now believes in God -- more or less -- based on scientific evidence, and says so on a video released Thursday.
At age 81, after decades of insisting belief is a mistake, Antony Flew has concluded that some sort of intelligence or first cause must have created the universe. A super-intelligence is the only good explanation for the origin of life and the complexity of nature, Flew said in a telephone interview from England.

"Sorry, you might be able to convince me that a "god", as we can best describe it, exists. Though, there is no proof that there is only one such "god". You will not be able to convince me that Christianity is the only correct version of that god."
Those of us who know do not have a God-given mission to convince you. We are told to speak the Good News. CS Lewis does that. Many on this forum do that. But convince you? No. God still leaves it up to you to choose. My advise, choose wisely, there will come a time when you will know.
"You cannot expect the unbelievers to be especially gracious in their language toward Christ. Like it or not, He can be very offensive."
Jesus was never offensive except toward the religious system - the Pharasee's represented that system. He had no use for what had become the religious systems of men then, and he has no use for the religious systems of men today. Many of those today call themselves 'Christian'. Look at Jesus Christ, then look for the Jesus Christ-likeness in today's religious systems. Hmmm, I wonder what John's letter to the seven churches in Asia-minor referenced as far as todays world is concerned? Might be we know first hand what the religious systems are from which he writes we should come out.
Even the hardest of the hard...in the dead of night, cry out to God.
Short of breath and one day closer to death.
