this is ridiculous. As long as "Pale Male" wasn't divebombing pedestrians in Central Park,or something like that, why move him? Leave the poor guy be. He wasn't bothering anybody.

But if they remove the spikes in question Mssr. P. Male & family's droppings will be more than made up for by the legions of pigeons that will be sure to return. This critter must have kept the doves away for years. Sounds short-sighted to me by Jiminy.

Can't have any of that, can we?

It was a researched and thought-out decision on the part of the building. A story with much more significance than a couple of hawks is being over looked here.
We have a building that does research and thinks

This is idiotic-somebody needs to tell these idiots to leave the poor bird alone. Hawks are all over the place out here in the country, but when we lived in the city seeing one was a real event requiring a camera. I hope the people who caused the hawks to move are plagued with rats in their attics and pigeons crapping on them every time they walk outside.

Pale Male and his mate won't be using the nest for anything until this spring. Hawks do not live in their nests unless there are babies in it. This pair inhabits Central Park. I don't agree with what was done, but by this spring, the nest will be returned for the next clutch of eggs. That is plenty of time.

A spokeswoman for the Fish and Wildlife Service said it had been contacted by the building about removing the nest. That is one amazing building!

I wonder what prompted the removal?

See the "Note" next to the picture on the upper left for further clarification of my previous comment. As you can see, Pale Male is quite the ladies man...
