Minetta probably never found the humor in Doug Marlette's post-9-11 cartoon:

More info HERE. The article is from 2002, so I don't know if the bumper stickers are still available.

Bush should have fired his arse long ago...
To: Sir Gawain
Damn. Four more years of that idiot, Mineta. I hope that dumb bastard is killed by an Arab that he refused to "profile".

Unbelievable that he remains. Hard to accept that Bush couldn't find some other token Democrat with a more serious attitude toward security than Mineta.

I don't know which of the Clinton cabinet holdovers was worse - George Tenet at CIA or Norm Mineta.
To: Sir Gawain
Bump for the truth on Mineta for those who are somehow blind to it.

I voted for and love President Bush. But sometimes I simply do not understand him. Mineta???

This thread has plenty of people defending Bush's absurd decision.

it just tells us how out of touch, or uncaring, the political team at the white house is regarding how the core supporters feel. they know we don't like Mineta, it would have been trivial to ask him to move on, yet they did not.
To: Sir Gawain
I absolutely think Mineta is the WRONG man for this crucial job . He needs to go , he should have never been kept on after 9/11 in the first place. Apparently Mr. Mineta is extremely biased by his own family's internment on Japanese racial/ethnic profiling during WW2 and is driven by this memory.
Sad as that was , it cannot be a determining factor in the current climate and threat levels.
Please please please do us all a HUGE favor and send this fellow on to another assignment.

Norman Mineta is the dirtbag idiot who
insisted that:
- No profiling of Middle Eastern males be done immediately after 9/11/01.
- At airports, there shall never be more than 2 people of Middle Eastern descent in secondary holding/interrogation areas at any time.
After reading these gems, I wanted nothing more from him but his head on a pike.

Mineta is incompetent even as a bureaucrat. I can forgive Bush for selecting him, but I cannot understand Bush's decision to KEEP him.
Unnnnghhhh!

It becomes much easier to understand why the leftists think Bush is an idiot.
Sometimes, frankly, he is.
I wonder if Mineta or some other high-ranking 'Rat has something on ol' George?

I voted for and love President Bush.Never love politicians, unless you're related by blood. That way lies folly.
In fact, never trust them either, until you're pretty damn sure you can. Keeping Mineta means you can't.
