I agree. I think Bush inherited a horrible situation, but he is responsible for fixing it. I think their are legit criticisms for how he has addressed the problems hbe inherited. Having said that, I think the public would be served well if the Media did a comprehensive look into this problem. This was a problem long in the making, Clintoon must also take heat for it. And the Pentagon too.
The Bush administration's inability to describe the military (and the problems) they inherited (in a way that explains, but doesn't come across like whiny blame shifting) is a contuing problem.

The Military was ignored, as far as requested updates go, during the Clinton years.
And their are burocraps in the Pentagon.....and as a person who comes from a huge military family...I can tell you that many of them are butt kissers who are working to get stars on their shoulders. So they will stop any word for getting to the top...if it hurts their standing.
I guarantee you that those butt kissers are in a state of panic. Because, even though the reporter was playing games, the issue or worries of soldiers has reached Rumsfeld's attention.
And that means that the burocraps at the top of the Army leadership...will catch h#ll.
There are way too many burocrap flag officers in the Army...(Think Wesley Clark). Year by year...they are being weeded out.....but it is always an ongoing problem.
You know better than to think that. A comprehensive look into the problem will reveal murderous effeciency with which Clinton gutted our military...and the public will be told it's all Bush's fault. You know that.
