'A parent's worst nightmare' 9-year-old girl sexually assaulted in her bedroom
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 12/9/4 | Jaxon Van Derbeken

A convicted sex offender broke into a San Francisco home in the Ingleside district and raped a 9-year-old girl in her bedroom in an hourlong attack that ended when the girl's mother walked into the room, San Francisco police said.

The man, police say, fled on foot and was chased by the girl's father, who at one point struck him with a 2-by-4. The man continued fleeing through several backyards and was captured by police and identified as Roberto Gamero, 36, of San Francisco, police said.

"It's a parent's worst nightmare,'' said San Francisco police Deputy Chief Morris Tabak of Sunday's attack. "It's pretty horrific. All of us who are parents, it sends chills up your spine.''

Gamero, a prior sex offender who was on probation for an earlier domestic violence case in San Mateo County, . . .

A 2 x 4 could easily be a lethal weapon if it is used to deliver strong blows to the head and face area. Pity that was not the case here. Can you say unrecognizable bloody pulp?

That's why I have a 45 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback, soon to be an 80 pound Rhodesian Ridgeback that sleeps in my daughters room.

Ninety lb. Rottie here. She's an absolute goof ball as a rule, but no one comes on the property, or heaven forbid, threatens her "little sister" my two year old daughter, without her getting annoyed.

Rhodesians are awesome dogs. I met one in Boston once, friendly as anything AND HUGE.

LOL did you just say "...cat can't fart" in reference to your earlier post about having five dogs?

If you have a cat with five dogs, I don't think that cat will breathe let alone break wind around a bunch of canines.

On the contrary, I have Magnum, the great white feline that will actualy jump in the middle of a potential dog fight and stop it before it starts.

"50 feet of good sailing rope"

Now, there's an example of excess. Six feet of paracord should be good enough for this guy.

See my #19 above.

White cats are lovely. I had one once- extremely intelligent. Well that's good to hear that your cat has the upper hand on the dogs. :)

W,
"Anything that starts with a '4' " sounds like good advice to me.

Of course, '3' isn't bad either...

'But what do you think would be a great comfort to her? Any suggestions?'

Sorry, forgot the sarcasm tag. There will be no comfort for her. The damage is done. The point is the known perv should not have been able to get to her in the first place. Now that he has, however, I like to believe the inmates will deal with him in a fashion that 'society' can't.

I know it wouldn't be any comfort to the father, but I'd just like to say, with regard to running that scum down and bashing him, "Damned well done."

If you're going to point that thing, point it the right way. Skip the "sideways gang-banger wanna be" grip.

May I give you 50 feet of good sailing rope to hang the bastard with?

I have significant concerns about this offer. Is it nylon or hemp/natural fiber? How much stretch does it have? We can't have the "guest" to the hanging party dragging his feet on the ground. Hanging rope needs to be low-stretch hemp or jute - hard stop at the end of a short drop. Its tradition.

Why is it wrong to convict a rapist to a life sentence?

I see no reason not to. (Personally, I see no problem with a bullet between the eyes for something like this, but that's a different story.)

Anyone who get convicted on any serious sex crime should spend an appropriate time in jail AND the sentencing law must require the lifetime wear of a tracking device and a lifetime of parole. It's that simple.

Our of jail but tracked constantly. Period.

This guy was raping the girl for A HOUR before the mother walked in?

1. Why were no cried heard?
2. How do they know it was an hour?
3. How did he get in, how did he know a child was in the home?

I am sorry for being cynical but that other girl who was killed by her neighbor (savagely raped and beaten beforehand) was housed in a partying, pot-smoking, immoral home thta was known for looseness... I have to wonder about this one, too....
