And of course the NYT will ignore this story.

Have never seen rods at night. Perhaps the lighting was just right.

The two blue things are pointing directly at the bright light below the menorah. It's an optical artifact, something like a lens flare you get from the sun.

hmm..
Who knows....I saw Elvis the other day while I was pumping gas.

It's a silly article, but here goes:
So you know how to do it, replace the brackets ("[") with karats ("<") and use this formula: [img src="http://address.ext"] Where address is the web address of the PHOTO (not the web page, but the photo), and ext is the file extrension (i.e., jpg or gif). If you are using Internet explorer, you can find the web address of the photo by right clicking on the photo, and then selecting "Properties."
FWIW: Jewish angels ascending from a Menorah, taking the form of crosses?

Alllrighty!
I've used up my entire supply of tin foil. I got all the important parts covered up (ouch! that hurts, hehe).
Now I can read the post.

Optical aberrations and flare of the camera lens. Looks like mostly coma.

Spotlights from helicopters most likely.

Thank-you very much Keith in Iowa.
I hope I can buy you a beer one day soon in Jerusalem, or a rum, or a bottle of French Champagne, or a cocktail, whatever you prefer...

These are clearly angels. Or Photoshopped. Or UFOs. Or Photoshopped angels made to look like UFOs. I also wouldn't entirely rule out some kind of reflection. But I know I've never taken a picture of a menorah and had blue photoshopped UFO angels in it.

Those blue things are pretty clear in that picture considering how foggy it looks out
