Coach, principal and others recall Scott Peterson fondly
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Scott Peterson's high school golf coach and his sixth-grade principal were among 14 witnesses to testify Monday as his defense team continued its effort to persuade a jury the convicted killer does not deserve the death penalty.
"He was one of the finest young men that I coached," David Thoennes told the six men and six women who are expected to begin deliberating Peterson's fate later this week. "I never saw Scott lose his temper," said Thoennes, who coached the golf team at Peterson's Catholic high school in San Diego.
"If he hit a bad shot, he went on and played the next one ... I never saw him throw a club, yell, scream."
Retired principal Ronald Rowe showed jurors a middle-school yearbook photo of Peterson wearing a striped jersey and a toothy smile. During their brief contact, he said, the boy was "a fine school citizen."
Story continues .........
ROFLMAO.......and I think they were about the right age!
Honestly, I am beginning to think this has a lot to do with Scott's hatred of Jackie.
I would love to see a picture of Jackie when she was young; I bet Laci looked just like her.
I think it is stupid to have people talk about what he was like when he was 16 or 17 yrs old? And how well would a principal know Scott? How many students have passed thru the school? I want to know what his connection was with the college girl who went missing while he was going to school. He left when the police wanted to talk to him. I can see in his eyes he has no soul. He is void of any emotion which says a lot.
If my brother in law gave me bunny slippers I'd be 'wondering'.....
Greta is too busy pimping for Scott to do any real investigating OR reporting.
I think something happened between his early years and maybe late teens to 20 or so. Maybe he had a psychotic break, and no one noticed.
The P family is so whacked out (opinion only) that who would have noticed?
Often the teen years are when problems like that start. So people who are describing him as so wonderful when he was young, etc., must not have seen him very much later.
And to be fair, most people would probably not notice the change in him if they saw him rarely, and he was only just quiet and polite, they would assume it was the same old guy.
Someone on cttv, I think it was, was saying that maybe there should have been an insanity defense. I do think he's crazy, but then anyone who can murder like this has to be.
All except for when the neighbor saw him....
I was just listening to the radio news and they said Scott broke down after the jury left and was pleading with Gergaros about something but they didn't know what it was.
HOW did he find out THEN?? What would possess her to tell him on his wedding day?? If that's what happened, it seems like one really sick-mommy trick! I'm starting to think Jackie's up there with Norman's and maybe Carrie's mommas.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but... don't all the witnesses get a subpoena? I don't think there are different procedures for people who would like to testify and people who wouldn't. Additionally, I don't think the defense would want to subpoena a character witness who didn't want to... witness, positively.
???
That is what I was thinking too! Janey seems a little overbaord for a sister in law!
Long ago, I heard that Janey is either divorced or separated from the brother. Anyone know if that's true?
Oo! I know what else I was going to say:
I get the impression that Janey's obsession is (hold your nose) with Jackie!
She told him!!! Amazing, huh?
O...K...so let's play this out a bit...something like...
"Son, I know it's a really big day for you, but I want to tell you something about yourself, and about me, that you don't know. You have a brother and a sister who are older than you and who live in California, too."
"Mom? I... I... I don't know what to say. It's so hard trying to.... I... I... I'm GETTING MARRIED TODAY, MOM."
well, my imagination fails me here... what in the world could she or have said at that point?? This, to me, is the best example yet of how completely damaging and demented his mother had to have been, the whole time he was growing up. Sometimes, it isn't really the parents' fault... but sometimes, it quite obviously IS.
She's a slut. Her publisher's a pimp. A pox on anyone who buys it at any price. May every copy gather dust on the clearance tables until they're finally ground and liquified and bleached for recycling.
I don't know the answer to that, maybe someone else does.
From the way it was said on Courttv, it didn't sound as if everyone would have gotten a subpoena for this, and that it was unusual that it was being done.
Maybe they aren't required for this testimony after the conviction.
In a phrase "Scott Peterson was a total failure"!!
a waste of humanity
He was Catholic. That explains it he couldn't get a divorce or an abortion.
