Family, friends plead with jurors to spare Scott Peterson from execution

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Scott Peterson's brother, sisters-in-law and former schoolmates took the stand in the penalty phase of his capital trial Thursday and urged jurors not to sentence him to death for the murders of his pregnant wife and unborn son.

"I would be devastated. I can't even imagine. I'd be wrecked," said his half-brother, John.

Staring toward the defense table, he added, "My little brother, I love him."

Another witness, Aaron Fritz, a friend of Peterson since high school, said a verdict of death "would be a horrendous tragedy. It would be a terrible loss of a friend, of a brother figure in my life."

This family created a monster. And listening to the father say he couldn't think of anything worse than having his son on death row............

Well, I can think of something much much worse. Having a daughter and unborn baby murdered by a philandering lying scum of a husband.

"He's like, you know, the "Bad Scotty" like from that episode where Spock has the beard. The similarities are like, frightening."

But can you say that in Klingon? ;)

There is a limit even to my geekiness.

However, there is a website that is translating the Book of Mormon into Klingon.

I don't recall having that much time on my hands, EVER!

Uh, these people are delusional.
What part of CONVICTED MURDERER do they not get.
He's either on death row (which would be better for him ie, access to appeals)
or LIFE WITHOUT POSSIBILITY OF PAROLE.
Hello people. You've already lost him.

Still reeling from Lacies' death I imagine. < /sarcasm>

LOL, I have been trying to find out if self hypnosis can be useful in focusing on goals and discipling oneself to achieve them. So far no one has been able to tell me one way or the other if it is helpful.

I just heard an interesting little blurb on the top of the hour news. It seems that Geragos won't be representing Scotty during his appeals. He'll have a public defender. I guess Jackie and Lee don't have anything left to mortgage.

If he gets the DP, he'll likely die of old age on death row. California is executing condemned prisoners, on average, every 2.75 years. There are already 625 prisoners on death row. Many of them are quite elderly, and suffering from dementia now and need geriatric care.

Exactly. That's why he is so stoic in court. He knows that his death isn't that immenint yet. He still has time. Although I would prefer that he spend his total life in prison and become the girlie man friend to someone in there.

"Another thing that makes me sick is the idea being touted by the family that Snott should be spared because he will be a teacher in jail...
Laci was a teacher in life, but he ended that for her when he murdered her....
Conner had allot to learn in life from his teachers....but his father murdered him....."

I think every witness increases his chances for death...especially the other day when his brother basically said the jury made a mistake...Scooter just couldn't do such a thing. The "14K a-hole" (per Geragos) is really a nice guy.

At least it makes more sense in Klingon.

Morning.....

Well, I am saturated to the MAX ! You know what makes me mad ? It is the fact that if I turn to CTV, I get hooked, and I am too busy to get hooked.

One question. Why on earth did the Judge NOT allow ANY pictures of Laci, yet IS ALLOWING ALL pictures of Snott ?

And finally..(still working on Christmas stuff..) This weekend, MSNBC did "MSNBC INVESTIGATES". A 2 hour program. I was riveted ! It was all about California prisons, with the emphasis on San Quentin. OMG! this program took you right inside the cells. What a hell hole! They were very informative on the murder, gangs, plotting, weapon making, smuggling, etc. The guards fear for THIER life !!

Of course all I could think of was Peterson. He will never make it ! They basically said that these men risk nothing..they are on death row ! It was very interesting all around. All I could think of, was if we took a film like this into the inner city, and played it in one of the classes, maybe we could save a couple of kids headed for a life of drugs and crime.

If you get a chance to see a repeat...WATCH IT ! In the meantime, who do you think will win out on the first BIG interview with the Groucho Marx look alike ? Rita gravel voice Cosby, Larry Our King, or BaBa WaWa ????

No kiddin'! I agree with you. They are all alike in that family, delusional and Scott has been delusional his entire life. Being raised by that clan. It's obvious.

I heard on the news today that the jury is looking really bored with the defense. They said that one of the jury members even fell asleep during the testimony.
