Here's one Frenchman who wants to keep fighting, or at least working!
Give me mandatory retirement at 47, that's all I can say, because I'll be putting up my heels very shortly if that is the case.

FLASH!!! NEWS RELEASE FROM REUTERS!!!
The French soldier who held himself hostage has been returned to active duty in the French Military. He has been made Commandante of their White Flag manufacturing facility in Vichy, and has been commissioned for special duty as a Hostage Crisis Negotiator.
His first practical assignment will be to turn himself over to Muslim extremists and negotiate for his own release.

French Troop Surrenders After Bomb Threat Very crafty of him . . . Surrendering proves he's still qualified to be a French soldier!

No wonder they laid him off: just look out how long it took him to surrender! He's not obviously not cut out for the kind of work the French military takes very seriously.
