Lutheran congregation stripped of status (gay pastor)

San Bernardino, CA, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- The Pacifica Lutheran Synod has revoked a San Bernardino, Calif, mission's congregational status because its pastor is in a committed lesbian relationship.
The decision to remove the Central City Lutheran Mission, an urban ministry that serves poor and homeless people, of its official recognition is the harshest punishment of a Lutheran congregation with a gay pastor in more than a decade.
(snip)
"This is the first time in 14 years that any congregation or any pastor has been dealt with this harshly. We thought those days were over," said Pastor David Kalke, who leads the San Bernardino mission. "It appears conservatism has raised its ugly head here in Southern California, much to our surprise."

I cannot believe how many non-repentent homosexuals are serving as pastor and ministers in churches. Amazing.

That's really how the article is posted from UPI: "Lutheran congregation striped of status", see the link.
I'm certain that medical marijuana has nothing to do with it.

Conservatism - ? Wrong place to put the blame - -
Instead - Perhaps a message was sent - Along the lines that the church stands for what it does - anyone who doesn't agree - doesn't belong -
Sort of like - Freedom of choice - The church doesn't want people who don't follow the teachings of the church -

. . . committed lesbian relationship. I wonder if Synod would have accepted 'one night stands?'

The good book tells us that homosexuality is wrong. Some choose to ignore this part of the bible as if it doesn't exist.
That leaves me with two questions.
Where does the bible say we can pick the parts we don't like and discard them?
What other parts of the bible do these people want to ignore?

Why have these writers started using the term 'committed lesbian relationship'?
Furthermore, what the hell does that mean?

..how many non-repentent homosexuals are serving as pastor and ministers in churches. Amazing...not so amazing, look what the liberals/ACLU/Gays are doing to the BSA, they'll do anything to get close to the boys/girls and destroy the unique American culture...not so amazing @ all.

Yes. The ELCA is trying to separate the sin (the act of homosexuality) from homosexual persons this is from the article "The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America allows homosexual clergy if they are celibate and 13 other congregations have installed openly gay and lesbian pastors, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday." The problem is that this pastor decided she did not like the rules.

It means they have exchanged flannel shirts.

Oh, I can think of several. How many adulterous ministers are there out there? I know of at least six, from personal knowledge.
We're very good about picking and choosing what we take from our religious scriptures. Why do Christians say they believe the Old Testament, but violate many of the prohibitions in that part of the Bible?
As far as I can tell, it's all hypocrisy. No matter what your sect or denomination, the fact is that much of scripture is ignored. Even the Jews ignore the Old Testament. When did you last hear of adulterers being stoned?
It's all ridiculous, as far as I'm concerned. That's why I abandoned religion altogether.

Darned right. And forget Leviticus. Shoot, we'd have to stone adulterers if we followed that Old Testament stuff. That won't do at all.
It's all hypocrisy.
