Sep 21, 1883: Karl Marx's theories on Socialism were expounded at length yesterday before the Senate Committee on Labor and Education by Dr. Adolph Douai of the Volks-Zeitung.
Mr. Erastus D. Goodwin, a farmer from Falls Village, Conn. appeared as an advocate of "free trade", or at least a change in the tariff which would permit the importation of raw materials free of duty. Such a change would, in his opinion, be of great benefit to both the agricultural and industrial laborer.
At today's hearing, Mr. F.B. Thurber will be heard in advocacy of anti-monopoly principles.
ickkyIcky Twerp. :^)
That was a local show here (I think) in the D/FW area back in the 60's.
It was Slam Bang Theater with Icky Twerp. My Dad would call me Ricky Twerp.
My wife is calling me. Time for breakfast!
LOL
What ya having?
ha! I'm surprised! I did a Google for "Icky Twerp":
We had leftover smoked turkey I made yesterday and some veggies! Yum!
I thought our founding fathers were in favor of free trade.
More pics, etc. on this link:

"Edge is sarcastic but has a point with the only difference being that earlier immigrant groups were here legally."
I understand why Fedora might be a little thin skinned about the immigration issue. I live in California, and I am rabidly anti illegal immigration. I also at one time
was race baited by FR's "Notorious 4" race baiters. They gave up on me when they found out I married a Mexican American. Now ex wife:)
I see a resemblance.
I would have made a smoked turkey sandwich with cheeses, mayo, bacon, tomato, and mayde onion.
The look like they would have scared kids.
I see both sides. I just want them to each see the other's point and let's move on to better subjects. They turned on each other and that's not good.
"They turned on each other and that's not good."
Exactly! No need for the animus.
I think it was Sunday night sensitivity. RKBA bickering is supposed to take place only on the "Undead Thread".

The holidays should be called the survivaldays. I try to stay chilled out and think about the real reason rather than the shopping frenzy and where to be when etc...
Actually, one of the reasons I LIKE the Undead thread is because there usually ISN'T a lot of bickering.
Other than the Canteen, the UT is one of the safer, friendly places on FR.
I'm not hanging out in the Canteen at the moment, because of that vile, poisonous, depressed bit I mentioned earlier. Our troops don't need ME dragging them down
( You guys on the other hand, seem to like a certain amount of morbid, suicidal tendancy! LOL! )
I agree completly.
I try hard not to do the madness, but some of the nastiest family fights I've ever seen usually happen at either Thanksgiving or Christmas.
I'm trying to keep it very low-key this year. Just not doing a lot of the stuff i might otherwise because we can't handle the stress right now.

CG and I also know how to spell tendency....................
ROTFLMAO! :)
