My Mother received anb e-mail today with the sender listed as " Suffocating G Colleen" When she read it the only thing written in the e-mail was " Bhopal". Mom is worried because today is the anniversary of some sort of disaster in Bhopal India where a lot of people were gassed. She just called me to say that about an hoour ago there was a false alarm of it happening again and also something in Ireland. What do you think this is? Just SPAM, or something more worriesome?
I've read lowbridge's stuff on scamming the scammers. It is a *HOOT*!
Thanks, this is the only on I received so far. It did look official. Amazing
My computer store recomende Normans, says it is the best, has anyone here heard of it before?
It's not from Citibank, that's what's up.
Never heard of Normans, so I'd not use it. Norton, on the other hand, I can recommend unreservedly.
FYI...AOL & McAfee have just formed a partnership and as of a couple of weeks ago, McAfee is providing all anti-virus for the AOL users. :)
I will believe in its efficacy when I see it. Until then, I will assume that AOL has managed to swallow up McAfee in its black hole of crapitude.
The problem with Norton is that it does not catch all the viruses. Sometimes you will get a message from them saying that it thinks the email is a virus, but it can't clean it.
That's why I prefer my McAfee virus scan. It's been ranked as the best by the 3rd party researchers.
Not knowing one way or the other I took his word for it and installed it. It seems to do okay so far.
If you guys want to see learn some great information about hacking, go the Hacking Exposed website http://www.hackingexposed.com/
These guys teach security professionals how to hack, so they can learn how to defeat the hackers.
Normans . . . does it have a Website? What does the box look like? Not having ever heard of it, I'm curious.
How many times do people have to tell people not to open suspicious emails.
I sure hope her PC is OK at this point but...
No box, just a disc and an authorization code to install it.
Normans. You are sure the name is Normans?
Yes, Norman security anti-virus.The puter shop I bought it from is a small independent shop, straight shooters with a ton of bussiness.
Maybe this is it???
http://www.norman.com
I believe thats the one.
This Rsnake has been here less than 6 months....you guys are generous....I'd have gone with a 6, based on the unfounded paranoia alone.....
Well at least John Wayne wasn't killed BY the Indians! Custer wore Arrow shirts.
