Bush family the ultimate eltist bump. I voted for him twice but that is because the GOP gave me no choice. The GOP better wake up we are getting tired of this - I would rather vote my conscience in 2008 then get another liberal republican like Bush. I would vote for a democrat if they are tough on the border, against affirmative action and are pro-life. Unfortunately it wont happen.

I realy do not believe that Bush is aware of:
The cost of these Aliens to U. S. Citizens
The true sentment in California and Arizona about illegal immigration
The extent of crime perpetrated by Illegal Aliens.

There was no mention by anyone in the Republican Party prior of this problem prior to the election. This told me that Bush still had his " Guest Worker" ( line out, insert Amnesty)plan.
I changed voter registration to Independent, and made damn sure that no funds went to the Republicans.

IMO the President's "guest worker" plan validates the corrupt government of Mexico's economic diaspora. Fine. But what is the ultimate goal? What is bigger than the "guest worker" plan?

Well, IMO it is cross-border "cheap" labor migration worldwide managed internationally as "free trade" with developing countries is managed.

Rather than build their own economies thus benefiting their own citizens leaders of many third world countries push to provide "cheap" labor for advanced countries.

The benefit to the leaders is: they get to tax their nonresident citizens' earnings. That's right.

The source countries tax the income of their citizens "beyond borders". The host country gets the benefit of "cheap" labor and provides "human rights" such as jobs, health care, education, housing, and other human rights.

See Columbia University professor Jagdish Bhagwati campaign for a World Migration Organization.

My ultra conservative grown son was so angry right before the election that he was threatening NOT to vote for Bush because of immigration and driver's lic. for illegals. It is a HOT issue.

I know what side of the "split" I'm on. We must put an end to illegal immigration.

"I can tell you right now, the feelings are deep. This is not a superficial argument with the president." - Tom Tancredo

Exactly, and that's why Rove has expressly forbidden the good congressman from ever "darkening the halls of the White House again." A Rep demanding that we actually take effective action to prevent terrorists and other law-breakers from entering the country is evidently unacceptable to this White House.

said Rep. Tom Tancredo, Colorado Republican and chairman of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus. "I can tell you right now, the feelings are deep. This is not a superficial argument with the president.

Tom is telling it like it is. A lot of Republicans labor under the delusion that Bush can be cajoled into dropping his Amnesty for Illegal Aliens plans and other such open borders endeavors. Nothing can be further from reality. Bush is very much an advocate of Mexico's Invasion of America, illegal immigration, and a borderless America.

He is far beyond any and all reason on this issue. Only the Congress can stop Bush from implementing his open border plans with Mexico. Even then, Bush will continue to allow the status quo of mass illegal immigration from Mexico to continue unhindered. Draw your own conclusions as to what the real solution is.

You can either make it hard to get across the borders, OR you can make American life much less attractive to those who do cross the borders.

For those who are not here legally: no free schools, lunches, health care, or ANYthing. If they're here to work, let the rotten employers have them, but the employers need to take care of their housing and care. So, they might get the Mexicans for $3 per hour, but they have to pay more than that for food, clothing, and shelter.

'Course, the Arabs disguising themselves as Mexicans should just be shot on sight.

I'm asking for it, fine. But can someone please explain to me why this is so terrible?: "Mr. Bush already has made it clear he is moving forward with his guest-worker proposal to increase the number of legal permanent residents the nation allows and to create a renewable three-year guest-worker visa that would match foreign workers with employers who couldn't find employees."

Guess I would be willing to compromise on this issue. If W wants to allow all the illegals to go to Texas then perhaps I could be persuaded to go along with his proposals. I don't want him sending them to Colorado. We just plain can't afford em. Cheap labor is never cheap for the tax-payer or the man that buys medical insurance.

"some congressional Republicans say they were showing President Bush he will split the party"

Where are they going to go - to the Democratic Party? LOL Seriously, we aren't all going to hold the same opinion on everything, but 'splitting the party' isn't going to do anyone any good (except maybe the Dems).

"63 licenses" What more needs to be said? But then again this issue is where the NYTs and the WSJ editorial boards see eye to eye in their conspiracy to screw America.

I hope all the kool-aid drinking, Bush ass kissing is over and Republicans are REALLY ready to fight against illegal immigration.

The 9/11 bill needs to include the immigration-related reforms. That's the first step.
