Five years ago, New York City was spending over $10,000 per student per year. It's more now, but it still isn't enough!

It's easy for the elite to sit in their smug offices and tell the wage earners that they need to pay more if they want to improve education. Same song and dance we always hear when the subject of failed education system comes up.Not one other idea on how to improve education. What do they need a panel for? I could have predicted that this is the result they would have arrived at without leaving the bathroom, which is where they should deposit this study after using it for a more important issue.

Rarely can one identify a silver bullet which solves virtually every malady associated with a problem. Fortunately, it is obvious in the case of public education: VOUCHERS.

If there was ever an institution crying out for privatization is the sclerotic, socialized education establishment.

More than wasting additional money on a moribund educational system is at stake.

Where is the outrage at unelected jurists telling cities to spend more on education? The 1985 ruling by a fed judge was grounds for impeachment if not a revolt or assault on his person. He tried to fine the mayor/councilmen $10 grand/day if they did not find funds (read: raise taxes) for his grand design of a showcase new school in the inner city.

Is NYC in a similar situation? It appears so. It is past time to put tyrannical judges in their place.

I believe that $10,000 number factored in infrastructure, such as buildings, etc. NYC currently has well over one million students enrolled in public schools.
