I don't think there's an "official" FReeper hotel (at least not yet) but I hear the DC Chapter is going to be scouting around to find some available hotels.

We weren't able to secure a room block. The Washington Plaza, as of Monday, had plenty of rooms available. However, they require a three-night minimum stay Inaugural week. The rooms are going for $259 single and $279 double per night, plus tax.

Great!! See you there!! But I kinda doubt President Bush will make it to our ball. But who knows? We'll send him an invite.

Great work. I'll see what I can do, but I'm not sure I can pull this one off.

Oops. There's that WebTV incompatibilty thing again. I'll ask John if he can rig up something to take orders for WebTV. If we can't get it done, guess we'll have to use email and snailmail. Thanks! See you there!

I'll be there is spirit, have a great time!

I'll celebrate by wearing my vintage Inaugural sweatshirt here at home that night.

Happy memories of that wonderful evening.

It was the biggest thrill when the Governor's office informed us that he and the band were coming back. This is going to be the a fun night.

Is smoking allowed at the Ball?

Smoking will only be allowed in the hotel bar ( a very short walk from the Ball area) and outside the hotel.

I commend the DC Chapter of FR for all of their hard work in putting this together and we look forward to attending. But this caving in to the politically correct mantra is very disturbing.

We have a 3-4 hour drive to get to DC and will not be indulging much in the line of adult beverages because of the return 3-4 hour drive. For this reason 5 hours without a smoke is no big deal to me - but for others the idea may not appeal....having to go outside in the middle of winter in DC is not pleasant - nor is the idea of having to go to a bar not covered by the open bar policy of the function one has paid for.

I would hope a different policy on this could be found.

An Inaugural Ball with a full buffet style dinner, dessert, coffee and tea station, open bar, and dancing into the night with music provided by the governor of Arkansas' band, Capitol Offense?

And top it off with a chance to meet new FRiends and reacquaint with old FRiends.

How could you not go?

You will have one of the absolute best times of your life!

P.S. I have ordered my tickets and am now counting down the days until the best party in town!
