Well, now, that'd be a right fancy outfit. If it includes a cowboy hat and Lone Star belt buckle you'd be in for sure.

You need to make arrangements through your congressman's office for tickets. They no longer have the regular tours. Or, if you know someone who works in the White House, they might be able to get you a tour.

Last time the seating was downstairs. This time we'll have seating in two rooms adjacent to the ballroom. Together they can hold about 300 or so seated. Plus the lounge at the bar ( a few feet away on the same floor) can seat about 70.

"As an individual, you cannot purchase White House tickets at this time. Tours of the White House are available for groups of ten or more. Tour requests must be submitted through one's member of Congress at least one month and up to six months in advance. The tours are self-guided and will run from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, call the White House Visitors Center at 202-456-7041 or visit www.whitehouse.gov"

2 here would be interested in a Saturday Tour. I'd like to get the word out if there are others interested.
Thanks,
Annette

Now, I know there is a dress code, but can/may I skip the shoes?

Going for the barefoot contessa look?

2 December 2004
The Washington Times - Inside the Beltway by John McCaslin

Governor's gig
Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and his rock 'n' roll band, Capitol Offense, will headline the Jan. 20 inaugural ball hosted by Free Republic, a grass-roots conservative news, analysis and activism forum, in Washington.

It's a repeat performance for the 49-year-old Mr. Huckabee, whose gubernatorial term expires in 2007. Because of the high-spirited show put on by his band at the 2001 Free Republic Inaugural Ball and Count the White House Silverware Party, guests left other inaugural balls in favor of the governor's less-formal gig, which, this year, honors the U.S. armed forces

queenkathy and me for two please merely asking.
Nothing organized as far as I know.
I am calling Congressman Gallegly's office to get one group tour pass for 10. Let me know if you want in.

They're requiring a three month advance request and a minimum 10 member group for WH tours. :(
