BOSTON (AP) The president of the Washington-based Human Rights Campaign, the nation's largest gay and lesbian civil rights organization, announced her resignation Tuesday, citing "a difference in management philosophy" with her board.
Former Massachusetts state senator Cheryl Jacques headed the group less than a year. She said she'd achieved her goals.
"My priorities were to defeat the Federal Marriage Amendment, expand the organization's membership and fund-raising capacity, increase our diversity and maintain a strong voice in the media," she said in a statement.
Jacques was selected last November after a 10-month search. She left her legislative seat Jan. 4. Organization officials praised her leadership.
"Cheryl has achieved a great deal as HRC president," said board co-chair Gwen Baba. "We will miss her leadership and professionalism, but we understand her desire to move on to other challenges."
Board co-chair Michael Berman and Hilary Rosen will head the organization in the interim. The group holds its annual meeting next month.

I confess that this is not news. Say two Hail Marys and a perfect Act of Contrition and don't post this kind of thing in Breaking News again.

She set back gay rights 20 years and maybe permanently. Pushing gay marriage was dumb.

Timmy and Tommy will have issues for generations to come.
Children have no "choice" to enter into these alternative relationships.

lol I noticed the HRC too.

Something else is up, IMHO, she probably stole funds or something. It's abnormal to resign this early without reason, heck, she resigned a safe state senate seat with fairly good pay to run this group. Or, lack of funding for the movement won't provide for the salary she's needs to support her lifestyle.
