Only a few years ago, mass-murder attacks on the West in the name of Islam, like those of September 11, would have seemed like a thriller writers fantasy. Nor would anyone have imagined that a bombing by Islamists could swing a general election in a European country, that a Dutch movie-maker might be shot dead on the street for a film about the abuse of women in Islam, or that one might find oneself watching, on television, the beheading of Western hostages by men crying out Allahu Akhbar! over their savage deeds. Pakistan now has a nuclear bomb, and this weapon is widely described as an Islamic bomb. To judge by their pronouncements, the Islamist leaders of Iran can hardly wait to perfect and use their derivative of it.
At present, it is not clear whether the religious/ideological rage that is the motive force behind these developments has any limits, whether it may yet succeed in mobilizing truly huge numbers of Muslim masses, or whether it can be deflected or crushed. What is clear is that a phenomenon that at first looked like a cloud no bigger than a mans hand has lashed up into a crisis with global implications.
Does this crisis amount to a clash of civilizations? Many people reject that notion as too sweeping or downright misleading. Yet whether or not it applies to, say, the situation in Iraq, or to the war on terror, the phrase has much to recommend it as a description of what is going on inside Europe today.

Interesting post.
I wouldn't be too pessimistic - the tide is beginning to turn over here, as people start to realise the dangerous absurdity of liberal attitudes towards Islam. But you're right, there's a long way to go. Here in Germany the Supreme Court just ruled that a radical Islamist can't be sacked from his job working in the high-security area of Munich airport. That would be discrimination! Makes you feel safe getting on a plane...

It will result in their loss of culture and possibly the loss of their heads if they continue to think that way!
a must read from a TOP magazine of Our side
But can anything be done about it? It is as though these people know how to use the laws to circumvent sanity. If Europe is anything like here, the radicals found their ways in the legal professions.

Good question. Personally, I think the only thing that can be done about it is the expulsion of all Muslims from Western lands. That was what Spain finally had to do, after having permitted them to remain in Spain after the fall of Granada and even to have their own communities and cities. But the Muslims never ceased plotting ways to take over Spain again, and they even launched terrorist attacks on the civilian populations of Christian areas. Finally, more than a century after the fall of Granada, all Muslims were expelled from Spain, and while Spain continued to fight Muslim agression in other parts of Europe, at least Spain itself was free from this curse.
Practically speaking, however, I'm not sure how this could be accomplished. Aside from the fact that Europe is too aged and underpopulated without the Muslim immigrants to be able to support itself, there is the problem that it would now be impossible to expel people who were citizens of European countries. Personally, I think we should take the attitude of Islam itself, which says that the Islamic Empire trumps any regional alliance, and simply follow through on it. Islam is both a political state and a religion; well, in that case, Muslims have a place to go. It could be any Islamic country, preferably the one from which their parents originally emigrated, as long as it's out of Europe.
But clearly such a thing could never happen, and I honestly don't know what can be done. As you point out, the laws that might have protected the rights of Europeans have been subverted by the legal profession - the European legal profession, that is.
This isn't a new phenomenon for Europe. Many people all over Europe joined the Nazis thinking that they would be on the winning side, and in the process helped to destroy much of Europe.
Although Islam and Nazism are both fascist cults the Nazis at least were modern killers, whereas the islamists are still mired in the past. I doubt many European women will be comfortable in burkas, and being beaten once a day by their husbands.
Perhaps one reason why everyone's eyes have been off the ball for so long is that the facist, barbarous cult of Islam disguises itself as a 'relgion'. We can quickly come to fear goose-stepping armies or brutal political systems run by despots, but 'relgion' comes accross as benign thus can spread itself around the globe like an undetected cancer before anyone realizes that it's malignant. And the fact that we don't seem to learn from history doesn't help matters either.

Yes, I find it the most worrisome part of all.
I know of someone, an angry young woman, who is a scientist of sorts. She was denied grant money to pursue research that would show that a habitat of a certain bird species was being endangered by a LARGE development project. Well, now her plan is to go to law school so she can fight for these insane environmental policies. She is very bright, very young and her anger has been channeled into this movement. The thought that she will enter the legal profession for many years to further this stuff sends shivers down my spine.
Many millions of Muslims emigrate to Western countries to escape the poverty and the insane religious restrictions imposed by their countries of origin and only want a better life, practice their religion and not cause trouble.
The trouble is, fanatics migrate along with them, stir them up while their clergy demand obedience to their fanatic ravings. They are like car bombs everywhere waiting to be ignited.
Wahabism is running rampant including in America that teaches hatred and death to Christians. We really have to do something about that - it is already out of hand.
the European legal profession, that is.
The ACLU has done that in the US too.

Europe, or at least Germany, is exactly the same in that respect. If you take a stand against these folks, they'll be screaming 'discrimination' or 'defamation' and drag you before the courts. In fact that is the professed goal of the organisation to which this airport worker belonged- using legal process rather than terrorism to achieve the same Islamist ends.
