It's amazing that people there are puzzled why the Muslims are taking over there, when things like this happen with little to no reaction from them.

These folks miss the obvious -- leaving aside the VERY obvious immorality of deliberately terminating a human life. They obviously don't give a flip for moral questions, so let's consider the real-world aspect here.

As long as the procedure is illegal and doctors run the risk of prosecution and ostracism for carrying it out, there will be few cases of euthanasia and only in the most extreme situations.

Once it's legal and all aboveboard, they will start killing folks left and right (it's already happened in the Netherlands with the elderly and the terminally ill.) With no restrictions and no shame, the floodgates open. Babies will be killed for convenience and to avoid expensive hospital bills, just as the elderly and sick are being killed now to open up hospital beds and hurry up the inheritances of their greedy relatives.

These people have no sense. Truly, once you abandon morality you are prey for stupidity.

"Not until next week. She's on holiday in Madrid"

So what's the solution here? To force the parents to quickly exhaust their life savings paying for a life that will be lived in pain and suffering and possibly on life support and constant medication? Or to hand the children over to the gov't and let the Nanny State raise them?

I know that I wouldn't want my tax dollars to go towards such health care expenses.

I don't know the answer but I know not to judge until I've walked a mile in one of those parents' shoes.

"Measures that might marginally extend a child's life by minutes or hours or days or weeks are stopped. This happens routinely, namely, every day,"

Withholding extreme and unusual treatment when it would not aid or extend a person's life, even a newborn, is lightyears different from injecting a drug which actually causes death. One is recognition of the nearness of natural death and the other is murder.

The Church began its opposition of the culture of death with opposing birth control because it was the start of the long slippery slope that does not value life at all. We are sliding headfirst now, gaining speed as the landmarks of a moral and just world flash past. What remains but the crash at the bottom?

Lunatic fringe
I know you're out there
You're in hiding
And you hold your meetings
We can hear you coming
We know what you're after
We're wise to you this time
We won't let you kill the laughter.

Lunatic fringe
In the twilight's last gleaming
This is open season
But you won't get too far
We know you've got to blame someone
For your own confusion
But we're on guard this time
Against your final solution

We can hear you coming
(We can hear you coming)
No you're not going to win this time
We can hear the footsteps
(We can hear the footsteps)
Way out along the walkway
Lunatic fringe
We know you're out there
But in these new dark ages
There will still be light

An eye for an eye;
Well before you go under...
Can you feel the resistance?
Can you feel the thunder?

"Lunatic Fringe," Red Ryder

More than half of all deaths occur under medical supervision, so it's really about management and method of death, Stell said.

Not using extra-ordinary measure to keep alive an infant who will never survive is NOT the same as killing it.

If a child will never survive why prolong its agony?

Measures that might marginally extend a child's life by minutes or hours or days or weeks are stopped. This happens routinely, namely, every day," said Lance Stell, professor of medical ethics at Davidson College and staff ethicist at Carolinas Medical Center in the United States.

This is not euthanasia but a choice not to prolong an impending death. Euthanasia is actively killing a human being by passive or active means. The difference in treatment lies between prolonging life and prolonging death.

Doctors are getting ever-increasing power to deliberately kill their patients. Just think, we're getting to the point that when you go to the doctors you don't know whether they will try to heal you or whether they will try to kill you. They are becoming witch doctors .

Cordially,
