Over the past days there has been a great discussion about the role of the theory of evolution and whether it alone or the thoughts on Intellegent Design should be taught in schools.
I made the argument that Darwinsism attempts to replace God. "If you have Darwinism there is no need for God the Creator." But many of the Free Republic members disagreed.
Read the text from this recent text book used today in public schools and draw your own conclusions. I found this in Lee Stroble's "Case for a Creator."
Futuyma Douglas author of "Evolutionary Biology"--page 3--"By coupling undirected, purposeless variation to the blind, uncaring process of natural selection, Darwin made theological or spiritual explanations of the life processes superflous."
The book "Sign of Intellegence" cites several of the other popular text books. The writers cite the terms used to describe evolution; "evolution is random and undirected,"without plan or purpose,"Darwin gave biology a sound scientific basis by attributing the diversity of life to natural causes rather than the supernatural creation."
Stroble also cites an article from Time Magazine, "Charles Darwin didn't want to murder God, as he once put it. But he did."
One can read text book after text book, they all come to the same conclusion--Darwin replaced God.
Why then is a theory that has so many holes in it, still being taught as "fact?" Many excuses could be listed, but I would say it is just part of the liberal establishment trying to remove God from our schools and our country as a whole. In history class we can't read the "Declaration of ID" or say the Pledge of Allegiance, because they mention God; in English we can't read a story from the Bible, because that is seperation of church and state--yet we CAN read other religous materials as long as they are not Christian; and of course in science class we can't mention ID because that would include God.
Americans are going to have to stand up. We can not sit back and watch these atheistic liberals have every mention of God removed from our country. If we do stand up, not only will we produce children who have no understanding of our country, our history, or our values, but we will also see our nation fall into a great moral decline.
However, I do not think we are going to allow that to occur. In this last election we had a clear choice between a man of God--a man with values--and a man with little or no values. We chose the man with values. The fight will continue and Patriotic-God loving Americans can never give in. Read what is in your child's text books and if it attempts to remove God, speak out against it. Your voice matters--it matters not just for your child's sake, but for the sake of all America's citizens.
So your answer to "Are any of these macro-E fossils?" would be "No."
Where did you answer, "If it isn't, what would a thing have to be to qualify as this thing [a "macro-E fossil"] reasonably to be expected in the fossil record but supposedly not there?"
And Harun Yahya? Why don't you just join the Taliban and get it over with?
Have a nice day.
Where did you answer, "If it isn't, what would a thing have to be to qualify as this thing [a "macro-E fossil"] reasonably to be expected in the fossil record but supposedly not there?"Is something inconvenient about that one? I mean, if nobody ever gives me a good answer on that one, I might start to suspect that creationists are demanding something, supposedly reasonably to be expected and missing, which it turns out nothing could ever actually be. That in turn would render their chest-thumping demands into a charade, a Catch-22 game, a deceit.
I can line up all the pencils on my desk in order from smallest to biggest, but that doesn't prove they evolved from an eraser. You see "macro-e" fossils; I don't. I can't fantasize like you can and see a progression. I see apes and humans. That's it.
The new nation allowed slavery as well. Things change.
How are evolutionists pseudo scientists and how are they trying to tear the country down? Why not teach creation in the home and church and reserve science class for science?
Is the teaching of geology, cosmology, astronomy, archeology and paleontology tearing the country down as well since they contradict the literal interpretation of Genesis?
When someone asks for transitional fossils, what do you what to see?
God sets the standards by which we should live. Do unto others and so forth, in addition to the commandments. God stamps on everyone's heart his law and that's why children know instinctively what's right or wrong. In a way, I consider it our conscience. But, this is my belief based on a life that has been, let's say, quite active. I thought a lot of things that made me "happy" - when I was satisfied, i.e., thin enough, enough money, better clothes, better car, etc. It took more and more to make me happy. After awhile, I ended up lost and confused that why, since I have everything I want, am I not happy. I did some soul-searching and went back to my Catholic upbringing. I prayed for God to let me see the light (I know, don't say it). And He did. Since that time, true happiness for me can only be found through the wisdom of God and by His grace. It sounds strange and even primordial sometimes, but its too true to deny for me. It's like a complete happiness or content that is thick and full rather than hollow self-indulgence that is short-lived and bitter.
So yes, I have free will to choose if I want to live by God's standard or a worldly standard. Tried one, didn't work. The other, absolutely and completely worked for me.
Got me, forgot about flying fish!
I know my flying fish was a bad example - I know how foolish I sounded. Suffering from a 3 day headcold (happens a lot in this part of the country). I went to the website and briefly scanned it and thought, that's it? If the world is billions of years old, the evidence should be overwhelming. As an aside, I could never figure out why the world isn't overpopulated if man has been around as long as Es believe.
Scripture tells us to read the Bible as the Apostles did. This means that we can't interpret the Bible any way we want. Evolution is anti-God so saying an evolutionist is as faithful makes no sense. Either you believe we were created by God in His image or not. If you don't believe God created us, how can you be faithful to him? He is no longer relevant.
My personal view is that God is the ultimate programmer. He set everything in motion at the beginning and, because He is perfect, hasn't had to goof around with His creation since.
First off, fossil creation is an iffy proposition. Maybe one in a million critters gets fossilized and there will always be gaps in the record. As for the overpopulation problem, one need only realize that ecologies are typically self-regulating. If the population gets too large, the food supply shrinks in relation and/or the predator population increases, bringing the population back to "normal" levels. Also, prior to the last century childhood mortality was fairly high around the world. It wasn't until the advent of better nutrition, sanitation and medical care that populations really took off. Wars, famine, disease and whatnot kept most populations at fairly low levels.
There is no god.
Do you really believe that the only way to be faithful to God is by holding a belief in the literal truth of Genesis? There are billions of people out there who would disagree with you.
I have yet to be able to italicize on this site, so I can't make this reply user-friendly by cutting and pasting your response. That said, yes God can present himself in any way he would like and I guess for the rest of your questions, you will have to ask Him yourself. I don't believe that wisdom is known to any human and your not the only one who wonders. He is a wonder, isn't He?
If you don't have faith, then I guess you would think He asks that we follow blindly. Abraham would have sacrificed his son, so yes, he tests our faith. It is the strong belief that God is good and He loves us so if we have faith in Him and follow his law, we will live FOREVER in joy. This "inner joy" or "faith" is why I try to follow the Lord, you just know its right and good.
You have no way of ever knowing the Truth through your telescope, no matter what you claim to see evidence of. You can presume and assume and connect all you want, but you can't claim that your observations prove for a fact the Big Bang. Granted there are many mysteries and wonders in the stars, as there are on this planet.
I don't see any conflict with gravitional lensing and Creation. Clue me in.
Or when you try to pass off your religion of evolution as science on us!
