Was he able to use his name to open up other doors for investment? I'd have to guess yes. But that's far different than your assertion that he was given a lot of money from "daddy." As far as I know, and I know the family history pretty well, he wasn't given ANY money from "daddy."
Oh, I see that you are kitty toast. Never mind.
Yes. But Reagan had to face the mendacity of the lying MSM, and the Communist peace movement propaganda arms, as well. And he still won by Reaganesque margins.
What was the difference? Reagan went after them. He didn't let the lies fester. And he branded disengenous liberals as such. GWB was too much Mr. Nice Guy.
This is a treasure! I loved reading it, and proves that the media are liars like the party they promote so fiercely!
This is the fact....this election wouldn't have even been close without the lying, whoring media. They have become so Un-American as to be laughable.
I would never vote for John Kerry because of this: John Kerry had a choice to make after his third purple heart, stay with his men or go home.
He chose to go home.
No real leader would have ever left, unless his injuries were such that he could not effectively lead.
He has no honor
It would have been O.K. had he been enlisted, not NCO.
Interesting analysis...
While they seem to believe that most Americans who voted for President Bush are idiots, religious zealots, or both...
That about sums up the bigots who think everyone is stupid that doesn't agree with them... "Blue" state arrogance. And since they're so inclined to Socialism and National Socialism, who decided they were blue and not commie red anyway? Was that a "big media" decision?

You weren't paying attention when Kerry said his father was very wealthy? Not to mention his wife is the heir to Heinz Ketchup!? Probably both candidates got something to start with in business with their respective 'daddies'.
Bush invested in gas and oil.
Gasp! a Texan investing in oil??? unheard of!
>The frat boy cheerleader got it all from daddy<
Sour grapes, CP? You couldn't be more wrong, but then you
don't know what you're talking about. Try reading "A Matter
of Character" by Ronald Kessler, and a few other books by
people who know GWB.
Very interesting "stuff". Thanks for the ping.
Welcome to ZOT. How ever did you last so long?
You sound just a wee bit bitter.
Me, too. They were a hoot ;-D
Thank you. Evan Thomas...I think he regretted making the comment, but I think his comment was correct.
When one looks at GWBs history growing up, you see a strong family relationship, but a consistant pattern of his father letting him take his lumps without intervention when he messes up, and GWB striking out to do things on his own without family input - so that he knew he'd done it ALL on his own. His family made him the PERSON he is, but GWBs accomplishments are his own.
Good comments. Bush received a some small amount of money that was in some trust which he used to start his oil company (I'm writing this for the benefit of others, as I'm sure you know the details). What W showed is that he is someone who is willing to take advantage, not of pedgree, but of the opportunities this nation provides. He didn't inherit anything (like Ted Kennedy), or marry into wealth (like John Kerry), or gain riches by bilking the system (like Hillary), but by taking the risks of a capitalist, salvaging his company through a merger when the bottom fell out of the oil market (which ruined many small operators), and put together other successful partnerships and ventures. W made his money the old fashioned way...he worked for it, risked much, and was rewarded much for sound investment decisions.
