More. Just in the Christmas spirit this year, I guess.

Dubya winning improved my attitude.

No home Christmas this year. My parents and I are doing it like every good fundamentalist, Bush-voting Southern Baptist... we're going to Las Vegas this year. ;o)

Good Morning All-

Perhaps I'll begin celebrating Kwanzaa and Christmas on alternating years, just to keep friends and family on their toes! The idea of this "made-up" holiday is as absurd as gathering around the Festivus Pole and the other Festivus rituals! :-)

Things are tight this year. This means that we will have to leave kwanzaa out. The kids will be destroyed. But it will pass.

I won't be spending one thin dime on Christmas this year. No tree, no presents, no decorations, no cards...the most enjoyable, stress-free holiday period I have ever spent. My wife and I will go out in mid-January so she can do a little shopping for herself, but no Christmas.

Less. Mr. RK and I are cutting way back on our shopping this year (except for the under 10 set in our families -we always spoil them!). We convinced my family we need to draw names and in Mr. RK's family we only buy for our neice and nephew (long story).

Everyone is getting gifts, though. I absolutely love to bake, especially at Christmas. So everyone is getting goodie bags/baskets of homemade baked goods.

I’ll be spending a bit less on Christmas this year. I generally buy only for my grandchildren, the little girl is only 2 years old and not really into the whole getting $$gifts thing (yet). My grandson is a teenager so very difficult to but for. He gets a $100 bill. It’s the king of present all teens love, and I have never seen one refused.

Does anybody celebrate Kwanzaa besides the public schools? Maybe I'm way out of the loop, but I don't know anyone that celebrates Kwanzaa.

No, this year we will be spending less. Not for economic reasons, though, we just decided to keep it simple and buy fewer gifts.
