Rap lyrics about killing cops and raping women get your goat? You ain't heard nothing yet. Check out Dirty Kuffar, the latest hit music video from British rapper Sheikh Terra and his Soul Salah Crew. For those not in the know, "Kuffar" is what Muslims call a non-believer, "Salah" means righteousness or piety in Arabic, "Terra" is rap lingo for "terror," and the name of the group is an intentional rip-off of the name of British rap group "So Solid Crew."
The lyrics brag about the attack on the World Trade Center, claim that Bush and Blair will be "thrown inna fire," condemn a range of Arab and Western leaders as "dirty infidels" and generally exhort Muslims to battle. If the lyrics aren't enough, though, there is the accompanying music video, which features blurbs like "send 'em home in body bags" over film of American soldiers in Baghdad, news footage featuring a Chechen separatist executing a Russian soldier, al-Qaeda biggie Ayman al-Zawahiri morphing into a lion as Bush morphs into a chimpanzee and Ariel Sharon morphs into a pig, and much more. According to the Observer, the video is all the rage in Muslim youth circles.
Where can you get your copy? From the website of Saudi dissident Dr. Mohammed al-Mas'ari, who heads the Committee for the Defense of Legitimate Rights and who was denied asylum in Britain. My apologies for being unable to find the actual website where you can order the video, but if I had, would you really want to take a chance on clicking the link?
Considering Osama bin Laden's well-publicized recruitment problems, the popularity of Dirty Kuffar may be just the ticket to a revitalized Holy War. But isn't Rapping For Islam a little like Streetwalking For Jesus? If Osama and friends have to resort to rap music videos to sell jihad, haven't the Kuffars already won?
At least they got the beat your women part down pat.
