Lawnguyland has gone from one of the most reliable Republican strongholds in the country to being another liberal craphole. A little more than a decade ago, all but one congressmen from there were Republicans, but now only one -- and that's Peter King.
Carolyn McCarthy is now the congresscritter for what was once one of the staunchest, reflexively GOP districts in the area. Garden City, Franklin Square, etc. -- I remember when they had GOP offices in storefronts, but never recall seeing a Dem office. I shudder to think of what it must be like there now.
Garden City, Franklin Square and New Hyde Park all went for Bush.
