Do you realize your first sentence is at odds with the rest of your paragraph? What makes you think LI Republicans are against ILLEGAL immigration?

"Suffolk police and corrections officers say, they are prohibited from asking immigrants whether they are in the country legally."

That's the same line we hear everywhere in the country. Pure insanity!

"If they are moving us from one place to another, it obviously means they don't want us around."

Well take a freakin' hint!

While this is going on, police in the State of New Jersey has been directed by the U.S. Immigration Services not to take any actions against illegal aliens.

People should stop connecting illegal aliens to any specific ethnic group.

Ethnicity is not the issue here, illegality and border security is.

Hispanics helped put Bush over the margin in the last election and of all new immigrant groups, Hispanics provide the most fertile soil for recruiting new Republicans - also non-Islamic Asians.

Pretty sad, this race card they keep playing. Last night on radio out of Studio City, Ca. I listened to a black conservative man named Terry Anderson. He was addressing the fact that the black community is really being hurt because the illegals are doing the jobs they used to do in So. Calif. and how their neighborhoods have fallen into disrepair because so many illegals migrate to the poorer sections. He is SO angry that the GOP won't listen, and has been working to get this discussed for years. He warns that most black conservatives will not support the GOP in the future if Hillary and crew defend, or pretend to defend the borders.

"stolen shopping carts heading for the laudromat on Sunday morning."

Not the ones who moved into my neighborhood. They hung the laundry on the front fence. At least it covered up the dozens of huts they built for their fighting chickens.

Right now, Suffolk police and corrections officers say, they are prohibited from asking immigrants whether they are in the country legally.

Prohibited by whom?

"It's like we're going backwards," said Irma Solis, an organizer at the Workplace Project, a Hispanic advocacy group in Farmingville. "It's another wave of attacks against the immigrant community.

Not really. Just people standing up to the attacks from unbridled immigration that are ruining neighboorhoods, cities, towns, states and this country.

He's right about that, Aunt B. There's much resentment in the black communities because of the Mexican invasion here in CA. The illegals undercut wages for everyone. They can do that because they pack 20 people into two bedroom apartments and share the rent. It's sickening what they do to neighborhoods.

Suffolk was 49%/49%, a statistical dead heat with only 1,136 vote's difference.

Nassau was closer at 52-47 but Freeport, Hempstead, Glen Cove and Long Beach tipped the balance. To say LI is Kerry country is idiocy.

janet, If I remember you are in California.

Check out a response from our Senator:

Thank you for your letter regarding social security accounts
for Mexican nationals working in the United States. I welcome the
opportunity to respond.

On July 15, 2004, Representative Mac Collins introduced
House Resolution 720, a resolution expressing disapproval of the
totalization agreement between the social security systems of the
United States and Mexico. Please know that I will keep your
comments in mind should the Senate consider a similar resolution
or legislation on this issue.

Again, thank you for writing. I hope you will continue to
keep me informed on issues of importance to you. If you have any
further questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact my
Washington, D.C. staff at (202) 224-3841.

Sincerely yours,

Dianne Feinstein
United States Senator

http://feinstein.senate.gov
Here is an exerpt from her web site.

http://feinstein.senate.gov/03Releases/r-scaapII.htm

"Illegal immigration is a problem that affects communities across the nation. However, this issue affects my home state of California disproportionately because of California's proximity to the border. In the last year, illegal immigration cost Californians almost $1.2 billion. Of that amount, California spent an estimated $980 million on emergency services for undocumented immigrants.

Border counties, in particular, are among the hardest hit - especially in terms of dollars spent on incarceration, court costs, and emergency medical care for those who are living in the U.S. illegally. For example,
* San Diego County spent an estimated $76.1 million in 2001 in uncompensated costs to provide emergency medical care for undocumented immigrants.
* Imperial County, one of the nation's most impoverished counties, spent nearly $3 million in 2001 in uncompensated emergency medical costs for undocumented immigrants."

I got the same (noncommital) type response from Barbara Boxer. Neither of them say whether they're voting for "totalization". This "totalization" will wipe us out.

Our politicians are in bed with the big business/slave labor lobby, and people like us are considered pests who try to stand in their way. We ARE NOT being represented!!

I think you are onto something. Hillary won't use her liberal credentials against illegals. The object is to neuter the GOP. (As if they have any testosterone)

I expect illegal immigration to be whooped into a frenzy by the mm the next four years and for another "strong" third party candidate to arise and be given massive media exposure, like Perot, while claiming to be against open borders. Like Perot, he will be nothing but a spy for the Clintons.

They don't have to peel off that many Republican votes to win, and this may do it for Queen Hillary. They don't call the GOP the Stupid Party for nothing.

my friend's neighborhood (in Somerville) became overrun with Brazilian gay illegals.

!!!

What part of Somerville? That's so weird. Certainly lots of Brazilians here in general.
