Greetings to all the Prayer Warriors holding vigil for the Troops! We finally got our computer problems ironed out. We changed service in order to take advantage of the new DSL service being offered in our area. We were so eager to get out of modem he** (and the bugs we were experiencing from our inadequately protected server)that we signed on before realizing we needed to run a new wire. The TEXOKIE household sometimes has a severe shortage of round tuits, but we finally unearthed one and so here we are!!

Warmest wishes to all with hopes that all here had a peaceful and beautiful Christmas and shall be having a very blessed New Year.

While I have not had the opportunity to contribute to the thread, I have read the above entries and I'm so very grateful that the work goes on; the Prayer Warriors are continuing to go to their prayer closets and doing the spiritual work which needs doing. I have been with you in spirit every day. Appreciation goes to amom for adding new names to our prayer list and for letting you know I didnt leave off the work at hand.

We have much work to do before us. We have the upcoming Iraqi elections, and we must be wary that Iran and North Korea and other countries pose many challenges to our nation, and possibly our military. By God's grace, may we avoid more fighting, but if it comes to that, we shall be there supporting our precious young men and women. May God indeed guide our President in walking the mine fields of the crises which are before him.

MERCIFUL FATHER,

We place before you all of the young men and women which are on our list. The ones who have been there in long standing as well as the ones who have recently been placed there. Enfold and bless in this way all our troops, allies, newly trained Iraqis, and all standing for Freedom who are in harm's way. Guide, guard, direct and protect them, each one, as well as the ones holding vigil for them. Grant each one a team of angels to keep them from harm. Grant them the special gifts of wisdom, courage, strength, protection, discipline, healing, love of service, mercy and the ability to be the beacon of Freedom for the people who have been newly liberated.

Father, we are grateful that the Inauguration celebrations were unmarred by any serious incidents. We are grateful that we have remaining at the helm this man who worships at your altar and who has made such a strong stand for Freedom throughout all the nations. Protect and guide him each day. When he comes before you in prayer, please grant that you will give him an extraordinary ability to see the Vision you have for each of the challenges before him, great and small. Show him your solutions to all the gnarly problems represented by China, N. Korea, Iran, and all other nations and situations throwing out problematic issues. Guide him in the prosecution of the War on Terror in all its facets. Bring to him the very clear solution and the steps which must be taken to protect our country and our borders according to thy Will. Grant our Representatives and Senators more than a glimpse of this Vision. Inspire each one to set aside personal concerns and seek for that which will best serve this nation.

We look to the end of the month when the Iraqi people will be for the first time partaking of the ritual which has become almost "old hat" in this nation: a free election. Father, there are people who will literally be taking their lives in their hands in order to participate. Please protect them, and gather into your arms those who have already been killed or maimed because of their actions in support of Freedom. Guard and protect the troops of our nation, our allies as well as the newly trained Iraqi troops as they work to protect the election preparations and the election itself.

Much is being held in the balance pending the outcome of the elections. The world is holding its breath to see what will happen. We hold the Vision and petition you for your intercession that indeed the victorious election in Iraq coupled with the recent Afghani election shall bode well for the new breezes of Freedom even now wafting through the Middle East and elsewhere.

We ask that you will take our hearts and minds and temper them each day so that we may gain in strength and wisdom and grow ever closer to being a fit instrument for your hands to play. Let all which we pray for be adjusted according to thy Holy Will which is perfect and full of grace.

Amen

Welcome back. Amen and Amen.

Heavenly Father, I ask that you would bind the hands of all terrorist groups and homicide bombers around the world. I ask that You would thwart every plan of theirs to cause death and destruction. And that You will cause their plans to back-fire. Give the coalition forces and the new Iraqi military spiritual eyes and ears so that they can see that which is hidden. I ask that You, Father, coordiante and direct a successful Iraqi election. Protect those who fight for freedom and democracy. I ask Father that you would grant traveling mercies to all of those coming home or going over. I ask this in Jesus' name and Your Holy Word. Amen.

I join in prayer for all our heroes and their loved ones and for those in the world who are yearning to be free. I pray also their freedom will include religious freedom to hear about Jesus.

Welcome back, TexOkie!
