"The brave men who fought and died for America in every war from the Revolution to Iraq, overwhelmingly were Christians. Count the number of crosses in Arlington National Cemetery (on federal property, no less). Add the Stars of David. Now compare them to the number of crescents."

Muslims now comprise about 1% of the American population, numbering 3+ million. Why is it that the tail is wagging the dog in all areas of American society - schools, universities, public events? How CAN this be happening? What is wrong with the rest of us, that we aren't opposing the erosion of our values and traditions more forcefully, legally and vocally?

The First Amendment says that Amerians are free to exercise their Freedom of Religion. Schools interpret this to mean that all indicatiosn of Christian faith must be crushed.

Just a difference in interpretation, that's all.

If Christmas observance/celebration is to be attacked and silenced in OUR schools and on OUR public property, then I want it attacked and silenced all along Main Street and in every retail outlet. Let's see how far that would go! Not far, you can bet your last dollar on that!

The issue is not other religions, the issue is expressed in Judges 21:25 - every man wants to do what is right in his own eyes (slight paraphrase)

Letters, e-mail, phonecalls, lawsuits etc. will do nothing to end this BS. This is but one of many thousands of examples of the agenda that the left has to destroy America from within. This continues day after day, city after city and most people don't seem to care. Where is the anger? America is being surrendered to its enemies within. What will this nation be like if the left gains control of our govt.? They already indoctrinate through most schools, Universities, entertainment and media. Activist judges take the power of the people away by aking laws from the bench. The leftist ACLU proves time after time that it is anti-American. The divide in this country is way beyond politics. It is a cultural war. It is a war of ideologies. It is no less than defending this nation from those who would destroy it from within. Our great military is doing its part to defend this nation and what it stands for against our foreign enemies. Those in and out of our govt. who truly love this country must make their voices heard and their will felt by ou domestic enemies. It is now past time to stand up and be counted and take this country back. God bless America!!

Someone point out to me where "Jingle Bells" became a religious song.

A good start would be to gather a few like-minded individuals, a long pole, some tar, some feathers, and proceed to the superintendants house. It's called vigilantism. I, of course, would never advocate any such thing, this being an intellectual excercise only.

CLASS ACTION! CLASS ACTION! Let all FReepers unite and take it to the courts! It used to work, but Clinton
loaded the courts with liberal judges. Now the courts would rule "agin us"!

At least we should get in touch with our representatives,
as well as our president about our misgivings on this overt bigotry against the Christian religion!

A Civil War? I'd enlist in a N.Y minute!

That is one reason we home school. The H*LL with public schools. They all suck. Take the kids out of school and see what happens. they would close. 10's of thousands of jobs lost. No more money.

Just too bad most people won't do it. But if we did could, :-), you can hear the out cry from the ACLU? Those poor people without jobs, we need to sue some one!

We should not stand for this. We are free to excerise our religious beliefs.

When I was a kid, Singer Clothing Store was the first one in town to put up Christmas decorations every year.

Mr. Singer was also responsible for having the public schools remove theirs.

"The New York City school system allows menorahs and Islamic symbols in holiday displays, but not nativity scenes. Christians thereby are excluded from inclusiveness, presumably in the name of sensitivity."

This type of thing is one of the reasons a group of parents started the Christian school my nieces attended out in CA. The Christian kids felt excluded from their public school.

Christmas is on its way out, folks.

We all know how far overboard the schools have gone. No Christmas vacation but Winter vacation, no Christmas carols but "Holiday" songs, etc., etc.

But have you realized how hard it is to even buy cards that say Christmas? Or that displays of Christmas trees or Christmas ornaments are not called Christmas (whatever) but Holiday (whatever).

What freakin' holiday other than Christmas they are for, I have no idea, but you know we can't offend anyone.

I was in Target yesterday, admittedly on a mission to find Christmas "stuff". I looked at four shelves of "Holiday" cards. Out of probably 150 different cards, THREE had the word "Christmas".

No artificial trees had the word "Christmas" and out of hundreds of ornaments TWO had "Christmas" either on the ornament or on the label.

Oh, and no bell ringer out front.

Face it folks, the season of love and happiness, giving and forgiving, it fast on its way to turning into just another day.

At least the ADL and ACLU could then rest easy.

Well said. Make no mistake, the anger is there and these domestic terrorist organizations are gravely mistaken if they think they will win this cultural war.
