This comprehensive five-part series will focus its critical eye on famous television characters that have become a part of the fabric of American pop culture. Blending classic moments, rare photos and interview with both stars and show creators, the series will spotlight how our favorite TV characters broke out of the pack to emerge as pop icons.

Thanks. Don't have HBO, don't want it (own many, many videos/DVDs), have heard of Sex in the City, never watched it.
And horsefaced "actresses" don't do it for me. No wonder I never heard of the character, huh?
How could we forget???
Rt 66
Archie' Tavern (Barny the manager speaking.)
Our Miss Brookes
In the movies, Li'l Beaver was playd by Robert Blake.
FWIW Bellisario (sp?) is, I believe doing it again in NCIS - I love this show. Mark Harmon is great! Last week's episode with Charles During who played a MOH recipient from Iwo Jima was some of the best TV I have seen in awhile.
Yea I know it C-BS but it is a bright spot in TV waste land.
No Maverick either.
Mister Ed.
Hillary Brooks...first from the Abbot and Costello Show (Mr. Fields, Mike the Cop, Stinky)
My Little Margie
I Married Joan
Gidget (and The Flying Nun)
The Andy Devine Show (pluck your magic twanger Froggy)
Crusader Rabbit....
It's a shame Amos and Andy will never get the recognition that it deserves. Sanford and Son was a direct descendent of this show.
One vote for Festus Hagen!
Alrighty, I confess. #13---Buffy, my fave! As a 40-something gal, I never thought I'd be saying this! I got addicted to Buffy this summer, when my local video shop carried the entire series in stock. I rented one disc and watched with my 14-year old son, and we both fell in love with the storyline and the characters. Buffy is a complex character---a simple girl, chosen for greatness, and the wonderful humor lies in the fact that she is such a regular teen, with all the foibles and failings that interfere with her greater calling. The musical episode, "Once More with Feeling," is the best! Don't judge unless you've watched at least 1/2 of the initial season.
Of all the shows I've mentioned on this thread there is not one that you could not watch with both your grandmother and your grandchildren....and none of them made a list that has Sex in the City.
but I do like "Prisoner No. 6" as played by Patrick McGoohan (sp?)."
Hey there. It looks as though you have at least one fan. LOL
Wow, thanks I didn't know that.
But reflecting, it sure makes sense.
Looked like him even back then.
What a shot in the dark...
I was asking on another thread if anyone knew the show with Midnight the Cat and Froggy. THANK YOU
The Ann Southern Show
The one with Bob Cummings as a photog & his gal Friday, Shotsy (She later played the maid on Brady Bunch)
The Peoples Choice
The Great Gildersleeve (He was the water commissioner and was played by a guy named Waterford.)
Fibber McGee and Molly
The last two I listened to on radio before TV
Don't forget Cosmo Topper! And George and Marian.
One time Knots wasn't shaking. Steve asked "what's wrong?" Knots repied,"I had a nervous put-together."
Tom Posten was also a MOTS
