Chilling Thought: Hunter Confronted Suspect for Trespassing

The suspect in Sunday's shootings in Sawyer County has been in trouble for trespassing in the past. Two years ago Chai Vang was cited for trespassing in Green Lake County. "It kind of runs chills through you," says Paul Gravunder. "It's pretty scary. I think the next -- I'd probably do things a lot different." Gravunder was hunting two years ago when he saw two men hunting and trespassing. He confronted them -- one of them was Vang. Gravunder called authorities. Vang told officers that they were hunting on public land, but that a wounded deer ran over to the private property. Vang was cited for trespassing, but the Green Lake County Sheriff's Department says Vang never paid that fine.

Many were worried about the gun-grabbers using this as a push for a ban the last few days. It appears worries were warranted. Time to set the VPC straight on several very wrong statements they have made in connection with this horrible tragedy.
