Because the article only quotes one side and notes that this gentleman has had an ongoing conflict with the school regarding his presentation of the curriculum. The teacher may be completely on the up and up, or he could simply be a disgruntled gadfly.
Only time will tell.
If the principal simply nixed a lesson plan that contained the Declaration of Independence, I would hardly call that "Banning the Declaration of Independence".
Personally, I will wait and see before I freep an elementary school principal.
