Alien

Groundbreaking, scary as hell, beautifully made, one of the greatest movies ever made period. Often copied, but never quite matched.

When I was very young, my dad used to tell me stories about Alien - it was one of his favorites. When it first came out on video, I was probably 10-12 years old (well past when the sequel came out). Took me at -least- 3 attempts to watch it past the point where Kane is on the hospital bed with the facehugger on him. Scary stuff - those suckers are MEAN :)

I'm with you: Alien, it is.

The second one was as frightful as the first.

I have watched Sigourny get into her spacesuit 33 times over the years. VERY WELL DONE FLICK.

Have to agree. In it's time, there has never been anything as good or scarier.

Roger that. Alien was the all time fright flick. Trapped in a confined place by an unkillable creature. The Thing had essentially the same scenario (an inaccessible ice station versus a spaceship in deep space) and was also frightening, sometimes more so because you could never trust that a normal appearing person was not the Thing. But the creepiness of the incubating-inside-the-human alien puts it on top.
