Note to Mr. Mulshine: All the ad hominems in the world won't change the fact that the Dems' ideas suck.

"One such site was the Free Republic, which used to be a bastion of intelligent conservative comment until Bush dumbed down conservatism."
I wonder what he'd say about DU. They certainly DUmmed down because of Kerry.

It's difficult to type with your thumb on the shift key.Well, I've been experimenting, and the only way you can type with your thumb on the shift key is cross your hands.
That explains what ails this poor man -- each column must be an agony to type. He needs help.

This is what the left has been reduced to. Name-calling. They don't have anything else. You want to see name-calling? Look at the first 50 posts on this thread!
Frankly, I think Mulshine has a point. There was a time the people on this site would have picked his column apart, line by line, and refuted it if they disagreed.
Now, we're the written equivalent of the fans at that Detroit basketbrawl game - throwing paper wads and trash at the person we disagree with.

Mulshine may have a point and he may be correct; however, politics is not about how right you are -it is about how effective you are. Further, if the GOP took the 'right' position ala elite conservative Mulshine we would be on the outside looking in. I would rather get the 'moron' vote and effect change in the right direction than sit on the sidelines and discuss how 'intelligent' the GOP is -something the democrats seem well practiced in...

But if you're a moron, you blame the cameramanThe cameraman was the only one there who knew those terrorists had been hit, packaged for medical removal, and the building had been 'secured'. The cameraman was capable of passing that information on to the troops, especially the guys on point. He did not. Whether out of stupidity, or some effort to 'capture the intensity of combat troops', or some other such swill, the cameraman let these Marines persist in clearing the building and some terrorists paid for that neglect with their lives.
Of course, no one from the media is responsible for anything, therefore the cameraman couldn't have done anything wrong.../SARCASM

Ad hominem this early in the morning?
Can't anyone come up with something more original than moron?
As far as I am concerned, the moment a pejorative rears its little vowels and consonants, the argument is null and void.

politics is not about how right you are -it is about how effective you are.On the whole I agree, and I thank you for your reasoned response.
My point is, the effectiveness of FR relies on cogent argument, not throwing cyber-spitballs across the WWW.

At what point are the Dems going to realize how heavy-handed their "paint them as dumb" ploy really is? I do believe I got this kind of treatment in grade school when I didn't go along with the crowd.
This klnd of coordinated insult speaks of dire desperation in the liberal camp. They couldn't win the election, so they resort to insults. If I remember correctly from my grade school experience, violence is not far behind.
Be prepared. This could get ugly.
