An unfortunate byproduct of George W. Bush's political strategy is that his success has depended on moving the base of the Republican Party down into a demographic that should by all rights be Democratic.
That's right, I'm talking about the moron vote.
This was best illustrated by that recent incident in Fallujah in which a cameraman caught on tape the shooting of an Iraqi prisoner by a U.S. Marine. The Marine apparently presumed the Iraqi was pretending to be dead for the purpose of preparing a later ambush. Now the Marine has been removed from duty and may be court-martialed.
Who do you blame for that sort of thing? If you're intelligent, you blame the commander in chief -- you know, that slick politician who when he first ran for the presidency promised he would never get U.S. soldiers into the type of nation- building boondoggle in which such incidents become inevitable.
But if you're a moron, you blame the cameraman. That's been the response among many Bush supporters on talk radio and in chat rooms all over the Internet. One such site was the Free Republic, which used to be a bastion of intelligent conservative comment until Bush dumbed down conservatism.
"He should be charged as a traitor -- the government should make an example of him. This has GOT to STOP," wrote one such blogger, with his thumb on the shift key in classic moron fashion.

Bush has put the Republican Party in a bad position. Its future hinges on a campaign rooted in the notion that the American people are dumb enough to believe the author of the Iraq war should be re-elected on the basis of his foreign policy prowess. They may indeed be that dumb. But it's going to be close.

This guy is a friggin jack-ass. He's totally clueless in gathering facts, and should enlist in the Marine Corps, put on a uniform and head out to the ME. Then he *might* have a clue what combat is.
LMAO! This 'journalist" thinks Bush has a wall of t.v. screens in the oval office and gives direct orders to all the troops?
If I was watching that soldier's actions on a tv screen, I would have said without hesitation (and without hesitation was the proper reaction of that soldier) shoot 'im!
These "faking dead" terrorists killed a soldier using this trick just hours earlier. Now He doesn't have to fake it.
Mr. Mulshine is faking having any sort of intelligence.
Then again, he's a democRAT. It doesn't take any intelligence to be one of those.
The real MORON is someone who fails to crasp the basic concept that a prisoner is somewhat who has either surrendered to you or has been forcebly put under your control. That person faking death was neither. If he was covering up a bomb or grenade, the entire squad could have been killed.
I wonder what he thinks about the suicidal maniacs at DU.

Who's the moron now? The Marines were securing the building. The Iraqi had not surrendered and been disarmed.
