The black community has an identity problem. They, for decades, have identified themselves with poverty. They are kept in poverty by Democratic handouts and this constitutes slavery in the 21st century. The day the blacks respect achievement and not victimization will be the day they will be free and the day they will register and vote Republican. We can only hope that this happens within our life time. Sad to say I don't think it will until the generation of the 60s and 70s has died out and their children, that have not been fed bigotry with their mothers milk, will be able to self realize their proper role and accomplishments in the modern world. That will be the day we will see them, en mass, turn away from rap, ghetto style, violence, and drugs that currently dominates their lives.

Is this guy saying that Harold Ford Jr. is not a Liberal? I lived in his district for a long time, and his father's before. Ford comes from the most powerful and politically corrupt family anywhere. He could not get elected outside the 9th District anywhere in Tenn. for any position.

Junior will never change his political affiliation, simply because in the next election, he wouldn't get elected, and he would be kicked out of the family. And, no matter what, he's still liberal at heart, and if he did switch, I'd say he'd be a Specter RINO at best.

I hate to say it, but Harold Ford Jr. is where he is because he inherited his office from his father. The only effort that Ford has put out is to try to make people believe that he is a moderate. People better wise up to him or regret it later. All that he has to offer is a pretty face and a great personalty that has the makings of a successful snake oil salesman.
