An infant died Monday after her mother called 911 to report that she had cut off the baby's arms, police said.
When authorities arrived, they found the baby with her arms severed and the mother waiting calmly with blood on her clothing, police said. The baby died at a hospital.
The 35-year-old mother, whose name was not released, was being questioned by police.
Authorities said other family members, including two school-age children, lived together in the Plano apartment.
What the hell would posess someone to do such a disgusting, horrible thing?

I'm sorry, but no way in hell should she or anyone else be allowed to use the mental illness excuse to get away with murder. If she's so insane that she doesn't know that cutting her child's arms off is wrong, she is a threat to society. For those who call it cruel to execute the insane(if they are insane and incapable of deciphering right or wrong, how then can they comprehend their impending death?), fine, institute her, with the stipulation that if she is every ruled to have recovered mental competency, she goes on death row, and no chance of ever being released back onto the streets.
