Bush wins, and the Left cries Eek at religion.

                        What Did Jesus Do?

Two things surprise me about the Democratic Left's public response to their bitter election disappointment — and the shattering of their illusions. The first is how little they know about Christians and Christian faith; the second is the ugly stereotypes that govern their descriptions of Christians.

At the same time, two things please me. First, they are repeating the same mistakes they made before the election, virtually guaranteeing themselves still more shattered illusions; second, they are verifying that voters were not mistaken about the Left's distorted moral vision, a vision they try to force on us. The redoubtable Michael Kinsley, for instance, has declared his own moral superiority over religious people in a tone of faux self-abasement.

In a column, he wrote, "People on my side of the divide want to live in a society where women are free to choose abortion and where gay relationships have full civil equality with straight ones." Full civil equality: Now there's a weasel expression if I ever heard one. Marriages? Civil unions? Which?

I have actually been thinking of writing a short blog on the recent spate of "Christian bashing" we're seeing from the left since the election. I have my own little pet theory about it, which goes something like this:

At some time during the late 1960's or early 1970's the left in American politics decided that the widespread adherence to Christian religious beliefs in America was a principal barrier to the achievement of their agenda for social reform and social justice. This was not a simple adoption of the Marxist axiom that "religion was the opiate of the people" but rather its reformulation as "religion is the barrier to intellectual enlightenment" and, by implication, a major stumbling block to their success in restructuring American life according to their designs.

I believe the left has been waging this "war against faith" for about thirty years now and with some success on their part for most of the period. They have secured the legalization of abortion, they have succeeded in drastically limiting the recognition of religious values in public life, and they even created their own "ideology of proper thinking" which we all refer to as "Political Correctness," that offered no place for religious faith as a "modern attitude."

But what has just happened in the recent election represents a significant reversal of their record of success over the past few decades. Their attempt to legalize gay marriage has been dealt a crushing blow. Political candidates who oppose abortion are no longer marginalized and set aside, in fact they are winning. And the principal factor cited by voters who rejected John Kerry, the candidate of the left, was "values."

What the left is now seeing is that a reexamination of the underlying tenets supporting social reform in America -- because Americans remain committed to social justice -- and, in direct contrast to the assumptions upon which they have been acting since the early 1970's, religious faith is now being viewed as the basis for social justice and reform among a large segment of the American people, which puts the left clearly out of touch with what Americans are thinking and is forcing them to reexamine everything.

They don't like that. And thus do they lash out at Americans for their silly belief that there is a God.

I fully expect Marxist "Liberation Theology" to become the Democratic revival. They will espouse this socialist "Christianity" as proof that they too are fully devoted to religion and moral values. I've seen signs of it already and feel that we should all study this Liberation Theology to be able to counter attack their talking points. A good way to begin would be to look at Soujerners Magazine. Beware and watch every word they say.

Many leftist shrinks state that Christianity is a mental disease. I suppose they treat it with brainwashing. Something about "the opiate of the masses." Ring a bell?

Anticlericalism has a very long history. Maybe you remember that absolute monarchs had to wrest power from the church to build nation states. Statists resent the check on their unlimited power by moral leaders who heed an older, and wise authority. In America they are independant of the state, but in Europe the churches all belong to the government and the clergy are government employees. Just wait until they see Fox.

How did President George W Bush win this election, again? It was simple really, he has prayer and Yaawn Kerry and the DemonRats are Atheists. GW knows that there is a higher power than he. He knows that as the most powerful man in the World, he is but a speck to his Jesus. This is what it means when a man has been, born again. This is why us Christians turned out in force as the silent majority spoke.

In our lifetime we have seen our country turn from a God Fearing Country to Anything Goes and now back. The forces of evil threw everything they had at him and he stood tall and America stood tall with him. While the Stone-age press made every charge under the sun 24/7 on TV and newsprint while the Churches around this great land silently prayed. In the end we have found that our Churches and God prevailed over the deceivers on TV and the newsprint.

Yaawn Kerry received the Rat nomination because as a Vietnam Vet he had the credentials that none of the other midgets possessed. The problem his Party had missed was that he was a war protester who hated America. They also failed to realize the guy is a complete phony. He was not a war hero and vilified his Brothers while they were still in the war. In fact, he should be fully exposed now for his shameful disrespect of honorable men who wore those uniforms and spilled blood earning their medals.

The President has the benefit of ideas that are easily understood. It is not complicated to understand that Iraq and many countries in the ME are supporters of terrorists. It is not complicated to know that our military will do any task that is asked of it if the politicians stay out of the way. It is not difficult to understand that if you cut workers taxes they have more money to spend. And it is easy to trust a man who has a soul and is not afraid to let the world see it. This simplicity is why America loves him nearly as much as the Dinosaur press hates him.

George W is the leader that many of us Republicans have been praying for and the Rats worst nightmare. He has a clear picture of why he is and what he wants to accomplish. This is not about expedience but what is right for America. This is a completely foreign concept to the Liberals. Every move they make and words they say are fake-out poll tested. To take a stand does not happen because they know America does not like their ideas or constant attacks on America. The fact is if the Rats were honest they would admit they are for a Communist form of gummit. That is why they elect an avowed Communist who spends the campaign claiming he had a plan yet never had to indicate what it was.

What have they got to offer now?? America does not want Socialism. We are not the type of people who need a gummit to suckle off and tell us how to live. We are self starters and pioneers who embrace challenges, who enjoy the fruits of our labor. The Rats have various programs and plans to steal our money to give to the non-producers. They see the world through the ideal that Big Gov can make decisions better than we can.

The very people who have made their fortunes from our capitalistic marketplace are the same ones who want to destroy it for the rest of America. They now believe centralized planning is more efficient than individuals. They need to convince everyone that redistribution is good for everyone, when every example has proved exactly the opposite. This truth has forced the Demons to offer lies to hide their true beliefs since America won’t buy the Snake Oil they’re selling.

Now is the time to expose the Rats for who and what they are. They are going to try to lie their way into Truth. We need to bring legislation that will expose them for the Socialists that they are. Make them vote against more tax cuts and for oil exploration in the Alaskan Desert. Make them vote for a stronger military and limiting abortion. We are viewing the end of a Party that has been hijacked by radical extremists and has become a Cancer on America. It is time to reveal this Cancer for all America to see and operate.

Pray for W and Our Troops

By the way, . . .

am I the only one who is wondering how the Democrats are going to try to make their pitch to red state voters four years from now after this spate of "Christian bashing"? What are they going to say? "We'd really like you idiots to vote for our guy now?"

That Ed Greene sure has an ax to grind. If you sit back and read the poem it sure looks likes it's bashing Christians.

Since the advent of ultra sound and the increase of crisis pregnancy centers, I believe gradually hearts have been changed. When pregnant mothers eagerly show the pictures of their tiny babies, as early as 1 month, people SEE the truth. In the 70s, the feminists told lies (the fetus is a parasite, a tissue, etc) but that can no longer hold up. We'll never have a total change of people's hearts, but the Dems refusal to even condemn Partial Birth Abortion shows that THEY are the extreme element.
That being said, the anti-Christian element in the country is vocal....and my hope is that they bury themselves with it.

Ultrasounds are done in ERs to attempt to detect or rule out ectopic (highly dangerous) pregnancies...and you'd be amazed how the women always ask for a copy of the pictures! Some of these pregnancies are very early indeed...

I've thought a great deal about this phenom. myself. I think we have seen a great flux to be part of the "herd" that sees itself "superior" intellectually. A "herd" that has perhaps done this to eliminate the dependency (as they see it) that they have on God AND the requirements of behavior and responsible actions per His rules. This portion of the "herd" has determined that there is no God and that anyone who believes in the Lord is, by virtue of this opinion - superior intellectually arrived at - stupid. Bovine, actually. I've seen and heard some horrific threats, insults, vulgarity, spewed nasty hate, words scrawled on the church, church keyholes super glued shut, nasty comments made in passing, eggs thrown, distinct finger symbols from passing cars outside the church, general disrespect, foul language, you name it. If you look around you , though, you see Billy Graham, an aging minister, drawing 70,000 people to Pasadena last night. You see Christmas lights appearing sooner, appearing more often, like beacons of hope or beacons of desperate people looking for something they lost, perhaps.

I feel, and maybe it's just me, a rising tide of general OBJECTION to this hostile, nasty treatment of a people who believe only in goodness, kindness and moral behavior patterned after our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Billions and billions of people down through the generations have believed and lived His lifestyle, abided by His laws. Billions and billions and billions. Time itself is based on His birth. They have a long road to plow to destroy this old, old path.....

Sorry... that's my "talk" button. I'm a minister.

And as I have come to realize the true genius of the Founders in the First Amendment "...shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion..." i.e. no state-sponsored church. Incorrectly referred to as "separation of church and state." They of course were the end product of several centuries of unbelievable bloodletting in the wake of the Reformation and were often descended of religious refugees of that era. But I doubt even they could have imagined the slow destruction wrought upon a church by being put on the govt dime. Europe is truly the land of empty pews. But I suspect this effect is NOT limited to Judeo-Christianity. From some of the articles I've read on Iran, after a quarter-century of suffocating radical islam, and the dissafection of the young; it sometimes seems that if the Mullahs were to be deposed tomorrow, half the mosques in that land might be burned down in a fortnight.
