HAYWARD, Wis. -- A dispute among deer hunters over a tree stand in northwestern Wisconsin erupted Sunday in a series of shootings that left five people dead and three injured, officials said.
The alleged gunman, a man from the Twin Cities area, was arrested at about 5:15 p.m. Sunday at the Rusk and Sawyer County line, according to Sawyer County sheriff's officials.
The violence began shortly after a hunting party saw a hunter occupying their tree stand, Sawyer County Chief Deputy Tim Zeigle told KSTP-TV of St. Paul, Minn. A confrontation, and shooting, followed.

You're right ...his ethnicity, which I wasn't aware of until I read the thread today, complicates things for the PC moral preeners in the anti-gun lobby.
I don't like their bias and have e-mailed them to say so. I'm sorry to say I'm a subscriber to the liberal rag. My wife reads it.
You are in the running for the absolute dumbest statement of the year. Geesh.
Oh you have no idea how right you are. But they have a nice spin already. A neighbor of the 'alleged' shooter says we need to do more, "become friends with them". The liberal looniness in the Twin Cities just can't be matched.
Nonsense. Cheap is good, if quality is acceptable. The SKS costs a bit less than a Ruger 10/22 these days.
The SKS is evil because of its trigger pull. If you've fired one, you know to what I refer.
I used the liberal definition of evil.
The trigger can be overcome. A guy by the nick of Kivaari does a good job on them.
Get lost @sshole.
Reports indicate that he is from Saint Paul, Minnesohta. A friend of mine is a cop in St. Paul, and he has told me that there is a rather large population of Hmong (sp?) there. So I suspect that's what this guy is. I think the U.S. government brought the Hmong over from Vietnam after the war to protect them from the Commies.
It may be cheap but it is effective. I took down a white-tail with my chinese paratrooper SKS about 10 or 12 years ago. I wouldn't do it again. It left a nasty wound on the animal. It was a heart/lung shot.
I can hit a pie plate at a 100 yards with open sights all day long with my SKS. All it takes is practice.
So, unemployed people drive luxury SUVs and live in upscale homes? How do you know who is unemployed and who is not? Jealousy is an ugly thing.
"The Hmong went back to his vehicle, retrieved an SKS (30 Cal Semi auto military look alike)
sneaked back onto the private land and murdered the owner and his friends in cold blood."
What did he have with him if he had to back to his vehicle to get the SKS? I wonder if his victims were armed with bolt-actions (if armed at all).
Largest in the country.
The authorities said at the news conference that some of the party that arrived on ATV's to help the injured man who had radioed them that he was shot were unarmed. Perhaps they thought it was a hunting accident. Who would have thought he was shot deliberately? Sickening.
At any rate, I believe the first man shot who radioed for help is also one of the few who survived. There will be alot more details forthcoming.
Like I said, it's a plinker.
Hitting a pie plate with open sights is not my idea of accuracy at a hundred yards. I can do much better than that with colt .45 without mods.
That is what I was referring to.
Freaking unreal.
Even the Asians have started killing whites. What's up with the hate for whites?
I was using chinese ammo. I think it's pretty accurate. I bought my SKS for $80. I bought a case of thousand rounds for about half of that.
What did you pay for your Colt 45?
According to the news Vang has had military training in Laos, came to California in the 90's and then moved to Minnesota.
He has prior records of police being called to his home about five times for domestic assault, and in one instance, his wife said he threatened to kill her with a gun. He also has a fishing offence of being 97 fish over the limit. Doesn't like to follow rules apparently.
With the new national match barrel, sights and trigger, plus grips and whatnot, I have lost count.:-)
