I recall arriving at Lackland quite well. It was about 1:00 a.m. when our bus pulled in from the airport. The bus was as quiet as could be and a sergeant stepped on and started scraeming "Shut the %$#@ up!!!" They took us for breakfast and they were cooking all types of eggs and placing them on top of the counter for us to pick out. I grabbed scrambled eggs and when I bit into them they were nothing but water. But the 6 weeks went by really fast. And, don't worry, it grows back!
Best of luck to you. You really will enjoy it.
It was about 1:00 a.m. when our bus pulled in from the airport. As I understand it, bringing in the new recruits at that kind of late/early hour is routine. Is that true? Dont they ever for the new ones to arrive at a base somewhere around lunchtime or some more reasonable hour?
