Yet, no whites suspended. Call Jesse and Al Sharpton. This is racism ipso facto.

Just boycott the Criminal NBA....
They are a bunch of thugs anyway.
How many have College Degrees?
How many have criminal records?
They are not role models they are nothing but criminals run amok.
Stern is a pathetic excuse for a leader. Artest & O'neil should have been banned for life....
Again, all he does is blame the fans....
Well, as a former fan, you won't have to worry about my family, sons, et al paying to see any games, we'll stay home where it is safe.
Screw the NBA, it is no longer basketball, it is all about individuals out for themselves.
And screw the Auburn hills Police MORONS.... They saw crimes being committed and arrested no players, none.... Where is their integrity, their duty to arrest criminals in the commission of a crime. Bunch of paid off moron union thugs that didn't bother doing their jobs again...
Must be more revenue in speeding tickets huh, Auburn Hills... Panzies....
Just turn it off, and go play with your children.
regards,
Joe

I wonder if I slugged the NBA commissioner ... would he just bar me from attending games for the remainder of the year or would he have my rump prosecuted by the law?
The NBA commissioner is a joke. He should be fired.

For Ben Wallace to only get a 6 game suspension is a travesty.
1. Ben Wallace unjustifiably shoved Ron Artest after a hard, but not flagrant foul.
2. Ben Wallace then threw a towel at Ron Artest after Artest had stopped arguing and had lain down on the tables.
3. The throwing of the towel incited the fan to throw the beer at Artest.
But for Ben Wallace's actions, the ugly incident would not have occurred.
Ben Wallaced deserved at least a 25 game suspension.

Why didn't the police officers on duty go to the locker room and arrest those involved for assault & battery?

These guys make so much money and part of their job is putting up with fan behavior. Fans have always shouted comments during during sporting event. The sudden rash of beating them up is disgusting. These players are spoiled rotten.

Not enough. Artest should be banned from the NBA for life with forfeiture of any and all monies he may receive in compensation for any duties he has or will perform for the NBA. Stern should tell this POS that he does not want this kind of trash wearing an NBA logo. Now or ever.
If Stern really wanted to send a message he'd have delivered a message. As it is, Artest will be back on the gravy train next season and except for a mention from ESPN on Sports Center when he hits the floor for the first pre-season game, it'll all be forgotten.

For the last few years it seems as if our societal morals were mirroring professional sports, especially the NBA. I hope and pray that this is another incident that shows how out of touch pro sports are. I cheered when Artest got axed for the season. They all should have, plus they ALL need to be arrested and prosecuted for assult.
Did you see what Ron Zook did to # 61 in the Fla- Fla St game. Zook took him out after he threw a cheap shot and I don't think he got back in. These folks must understand that there are consequences for behavior. Hire Ron Zook!

The NBA also has to ``redefine the bounds of acceptable conduct for fans attending our games and resolve to permanently exclude those who overstep those bounds,'' Stern said. Permanently ?
He should have permanently banned each NBA player who attacked a fan. The DA should prosecute everyone on film who committed a crime.

Among the harshest non-drug-related penalties in NBA history was a one-year suspension of Latrell Sprewell -- later reduced to 68 games -- for choking Golden State Warriors coach P.J. Carlesimo at practice. This coddling of Sprewell sent the wrong message. He should have been banned for life.

My brother had an interesting take on all of this. Basically, Indiana's team is destroyed for the rest of the season. They are out of contention. Being that Detroit and Indiana were the top two teams, the Detroit fans, security, etc. actually succeeded in destroying the opposition. What kind of message does that sent to other nutty fans from other cities who might want to provoke opposition players. The guy who got the least amount of punishment is the guy who started it all. I don't really care, not an NBA fan, but I thought might be interesting to those of you who do.
