In testimony Friday at her sexual harassment trial, a former Hooters waitress recalled feeling uncomfortable as she heard laughter while she undressed alone in a changing room in April 2001 at the Chicago restaurant where she worked.
"It was weird," said Joanna Ciesielski, who worked at the Hooters of O'Hare at 8225 W. Higgins Rd. "I felt something was wrong."
A few days later, Ciesielski said she discovered a peephole in a wall separating the changing room from a break room.
Soon after, Ciesielski said she complained about the hole and other alleged harassment to her boss.
"I just came from a sexual harassment seminar and does it look like it changed me?" Ciesielski quoted her boss as saying.
On Friday, jurors in U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve's courtroom viewed fuzzy videotapes taken by Ciesielski of the peephole.
Ciesielski, 26, a recent college graduate, testified that after the hole was covered in July 2001, new ones reappeared in ensuing months.
On cross-examination by Hooters attorney Raymond Pesavento, Ciesielski acknowledged she had talked to a lawyer within days of discovering the peephole.
During questioning by her attorney, John De Rose, Ciesielski said the restaurant's management wanted the "Hooters girls," as waitresses are called, to be "camera-ready."
"They wanted us to always look our best," she said.
De Rose displayed to the jury a Hooters summary of its waitress job, which included the following: "The essence of the job is based on female sex appeal."

It is hard to muster sympathy for the gals, I mean they strut their stuff to make good tips ... ho hum.
That said, Hooters girl or no, I hope they throw the book at the guy.
Her boss if vermin, but isn't "sexual harrassment" the job description for a Hooters waitress?
A woman takes a job at a Hooter's and then is sexually harassed? I'm shocked, shocked.
Are all law students scumbags and thieves or just this girl who had her privacy violated by perverts?
I agree.....
Seems extremely hypocritical on her part.
We need tort reform now.
A moral (and definitely brighter) woman would not have been performing as a sexually-tittlating object and would never have been the subject of that pervert. It does NOT release him of guilt of his perversions, but don't allow her to claim morality as her excuse at being "offended". His biggest offense in this case was he did NOT PAY HER for looking at her. No?
Hmmm. Lets review. 1.You seek a job in an enviornment known for hiring women soley for their ease on the eyes. 2. The tips your earn depend greatly on how much you flirt with the opposite sex. 3. Your work uniform consists of a low cut top that exposes 2/3rds of your rack and shorts that expose legs up to "no mans land". 4. You serve alcohol to guys that dont have girls or wish thier girls looked more like you. Sounds like a definate reciepe for sucess for being treated like an intellectual. I heard Ted Nugent rail on a ho one time about sex selling and she had a lot of capital. But hey babe you better have something to fall back on, One day you wake up 50 years old and an old bar ho wondering why your kids from different dudes are losers and your life is a mess.
a woman hearing laughter while she undressed alone, then saying:
"I felt something was wrong."
No kidding. Now, one Michael Moore hearing such laughter is understandable!
"Joanna Ciesielski is a producer for six-hundred south. She has completed an internship at NBC5 Chicago. ..."
Hey, isn't O'Reilly looking for a new producer?

These days, taking a few Law courses is the same thing as taking Karate lessons when living in a bad neighborhood. The muggings are a little different, that's all.
That's what happens when you don't go to night school....
What is the meaning of life?
All Hooters girls are immoral?
It does NOT release him of guilt of his perversions, but don't allow her to claim morality as her excuse at being "offended".
Where did she claim morality as her excuse, or are you making a strawman argument?
His biggest offense in this case was he did NOT PAY HER for looking at her. No?
No. His biggest offense was breaking the law. Did the waitress break any laws?
