Look I said the same thing about Newt a few years back when the left was on him about something.
If Delay went over the line then we can't be changing the rules to protect him and his job.
Same thing the Dems were doing when Jim Wright was Speaker.
Delay needs to save us all a lot grief and just retire and step down and take any issue the Dems might have away with him.

Boy, are you a wuss. NEVER let the SOBs get their way is the way real men play this game. The prosecutor, Ronnie Earle, a leftist from Austin, hates DeLay for getting a bunch of liberal Dems redistricted out of office and has brought these totally trumped up campaign finance charges against him. How stupid of you to suggest that the Republicans in the House dump him as leader and give that plum to Earle and the sore loser Dem from Houston who brought the ethics charge and will be unemployed as of Jan. I'm glad the House Republicans have more spine than you. Stand back and watch what happens to people who cross The Hammer. I hope the pansies in the Senate are taking notes.

Stop being such a liberal girlie-man. The Dems have got nothing on DeLay, and they've already escalated and attacked with all of their weapons...to no avail.

Now they are defenseless, yet you want to fly the French national flag of surrender to them.

Go away and come back when you've grown some cajones.

What grief has he caused us ?

He was instrumental in stopping renewal of so-called "assault weapon" ban ---

He helped redistrict Texas to gain Republicans --

Yeah, I suppose the Right being the side of integrity just disappeared when the election results came in. :-(

Sad.

I recall losing the big Congressional gains this same way. One election doesn't mean the citizenry just gave a pass on rules violations...I'd like to HOLD these majorities for a long time, not burn them away like in 1994-1996. Not everyone in the country--not even every Bush voter--is a FReeper. (I heard the shaky support in phone calls to voters during the campaign, and I've heard several people say they already regret voting for President Bush.)
:-( :-( :-(

I'm not saying we shouldn't set some things right, but changing rules to protect someone... that's just wrong.

And Newt was innocent but innocence avails nothing in today's climate. Improper book advance indeed! What did you say about Hillary's advance? Even if you did speak out consistently, it matters not because the MSM does not quote you extensively, nor anyone else on Newt's side or Delay's or Trent Lott's. In these matters smash mouth is the only winning strategy.

Well, Capt.

You were wrong about Newt too.
