Absurd! Better to send back all the illegal aliens who are here to their country of origin BEFORE we allow others to enter.
Damn it! Enough is enough.

Mr. Norwood joined with his Republican colleagues, led by Rep. Elton Gallegly of California, chairman of the House International Relations subcommittee on international terrorism, nonproliferation and human rights, in saying that amnesties "only encourage more people to cross the border illegally" and that national security "dictates that we gain control of our borders." Rationality from the House of Representatives - who woulda' thunk it.

I say we hire enough aliens to build a huge concrete wall between Mexico and the United States. Then pay them on the Mexico side before we seal it up for good. Everybody wins.

"national security "dictates that we gain control of our borders.""
Response: "but they're just smuggling in the terrorists that Americans don't want to!"

Rep. Charlie Norwood, Georgia Republican... Allright, more Republicans besides just Tancredo getting out there. I do hope that there is a legitimate Republican presidential candidate we can support who takes a stand for secure borders.

Where is Dingle?
Either he had it removed or it fell off on its own.

I will be calling his office, to thank him and offer my support. We almost defeated Specter by making our voice heard. We need to be contacting our GOP representatives (pro-amnesty and anti-amnesty), and remind them that their votes WILL be remembered in 2006.

The author of a House bill giving 600,000 state and local police officers authority to enforce federal immigration law .
I have researched this before and the problem with his bill is that the state and local law enforcement agencies and associations don't want to enforce immigration law and are opposing this bill. Giving them the authority is one thing...making them enforce it is another matter entirely.
wants the Bush administration to abandon plans to grant guest-worker status to millions of illegal aliens now living and working in the United States
< donning flame-proof suit>...
Under Bush's plan, they would have to undergo criminal background checks and meet certain criteria as it pertains to their employment, basically they would have to be sponsored in the same fashion as legal immigrants are now. They would also pay a $1000 fine for violating the law in the first place. While some may call it a "fee" rather than a fine, I must point out that it will not charged to those who enter legally. Their file would also be "flagged" to indicate that they must go to the end of the line for citizenship behind those that enter legally. Anyone that does not apply for legal status within a certain period of time will be deported if caught. While we must seal our borders to illegals, we also need to know where the current illegals are that are within our borders. We cannot deport every current illegal alien, it is not a feasible solution. We should be content to weed out the worst amongst them and provide this channel for those who merely want to support their families by doing an honest day's labor.

A reasonable argument...which I'm sure won't be appreciated by many.
