Make it four.
"The settlement does not prohibit the Department of Defense from supporting the Boy Scouts of America. Boy Scout units are permitted to meet on military bases, and military personnel are allowed to remain active in Boy Scout programs," Col. Richards said.
"Under the very limited settlement applying existing DoD policy, DoD may not officially sponsor Boy Scout units and DoD personnel may not sponsor Boy Scout units in an official capacity," he said, referring to the Department of Defense. "We are still going to support the Boy Scouts of America."

Spokespersons at Washington-area military bases said Boy Scout troops, often composed mostly of boys from military families, meet on their bases but that the troops are run by parents.
"We have a troop at Bolling, but they are not called the Bolling Boy Scouts. Parents are involved. They meet at Bolling," said Capt. Elizabeth Ortiz, spokesman for Bolling Air Force Base in the District, adding that Bolling does not sponsor the troop.

The Boy Scouts Jamboree, which draws tens of thousands of Scouts and their leaders to Virginia's Fort A.P. Hill Army base every four years, will go on as planned this summer, despite a court settlement announced Monday that requires military bases and units to withhold official support from the Boy Scouts.
"There will be no effect on the Jamboree," said Bob Bork, national spokesman for the Boy Scouts of America. "We don't anticipate any problem with that."
I'm not even following the Pentagon/Scouting issue, but I'll give ya a ping.
Thanks for the informative post. It's certainly a relief.
In reality very little has changed with relation to the Boy Scouts and their long standing relationship with the military.
ACTION ALERT...WE CAN PUT A STOP TO THE ACLU'S CONSTANT ATTACKS! Read this exerpt from the Phylis Schafley interview. Read the whole interview at: http://illinoisleader.com/news/newsview.asp?c=20902
Now theres another thing Congress can do.
You know there are these Ten Commandment monuments everywhere. And theyre probably 10,000 monuments or plaques that are in public buildings or public parks around the country. Theres a pot of gold sitting under each one, which the ACLU is going after.
There is a court law passed during Watergate era that allows them to collect attorneys fees for these cases for these Ten Commandment and pledge cases, and because theyre claiming they have a civil right not to see the Ten Commandments, a civil right not to hear the word God in the pledge of allegiance.
They have a collected a huge amount. It is a neat fundraiser for the ACLU. Theres no excuse for Congress to not repeal this and make it impossible.
In Montgomery, Alabama, the ACLU the Americans United for Separation of Church and State (a southern comedy) collected over half a million dollars from the taxpayers from Alabama for arguing against the Ten Commandments.
The state of Tennessee had to pay $100,000 to one of these states and when the ACLU sued the Boy Scouts for using a public park they had used since 1915, the ACLU collected I think it was $700,000 in attorneys fees and expenses. This is an outrage. snip
BETTER YET, HIT THE HOUSE AND SENATE AND DEMAND THIS RULING THAT ALLOWS ACLU'S ATTORNEYS TO COLLECT FEES FROM PROSECUTION BE OVERTURNED. THE ACLU WILL DISAPPEAR! 1-800-648-3516
I truly hope this is a minor issue. My three sons participated in Scouting overseas on military bases, much to their benefit.
The only thing that could change is that the official sponsorship for the troop would go from an "official" military intenty (if there is one) to a "non-official".
In other words, if they were the Fort Myers Troop they might become the Fort Myers NCOA Troop (sponsored by a non-official entity).
Number 4.
P I N G
All this has really done is cause the individual Boy Scout troops that were directly sponsored by an "official" entity to change their sponsorship to a non-official entity. So if the had been the Camp Thomas Troop before now they are the Camp Thomas NCOA Troop instead. Everything else remains the same.
The ACLU is a subversive organization. During a time of war, it should be forcibly disbanded, its leaders interned in concentration camps for the duration of the war.
You'll excuse me if I take a moment to revel.....
They are a religion as they believe in the set 'not God' and can only do so as a matter of faith.
They cannot prove He does not exist and is not sovereign... yet they wish to stop anyone who teaches that He does exist and is sovereign.
They propagate the lie 'Separation of church and state' claiming this is in our Constitution..when in fact it is not...these words cannot be found written any where in that document.
The intent of Jefferson when he wrote about a wall of separation was to make clear that the state mandated church would not happen in America...as it had in England. No king would madate how Christ was to be worshiped in OUR nation. Yet the ACLU convinces many that this 'separation' actually exists...of course among these 'many' are those who are most willing to be convinced and unfortunately for America they are in positions of authority...and in the courts where they can be great pests.
My pop was career Navy...and scouting was one of the best activities we had going for us on the various bases I and the other dependent kids grew up on...
These Navy bases were a gold mine of great scout leaders ...we had PBY, Corsair,Avenger and Panther Jet pilots, Force Recon Marines, Naval Intel...,PT Boat crew members, MPs, mecahnics and machinists...you name it we had some of the best U.S. military personnel giving of their time, themselves, and their expertise..teaching us such a variety of things and skills that no civilian enclave ever match.
The ACLU wants to deny American kids the positive kinds of influence only such great men can provide...
But this same ACLU will defend to the death the rights of pedophiles and other scum bags to be boy scout leaders and sodomites...scouts...
That pretty much tells us all we need to know about the ACLU...
The legal arm of THE PINK SWASTIKA
